Product Description
The Boker Plus Bolt-Action Rocket Pen is as fun to play with as it is to write with. Every time you open and close it, you press a lever that acts like a bolt-action mechanism you’d find in a rifle Read More

I just received mine yesterday and I love it! I bought mine specifically for use in my military uniform. The pen pocket on the ABU sleeve constantly jams into the inside if my elbow when I bend my arm and often clicks whichever pen I have in that pocket. The bolt-action style prevents that from happening, and it's oval design makes it lay flat and is barely noticeable in the pocket. I went with black aluminum and it is VERY lightweight.
Like other comments mentioned, the cap did quickly come loose after about 50 clicks, so I added some blue locktite and tightened it back up. I also added some black heatshrink for a little extra traction to my taste (but not needed). I also plan on getting my name engraved on it to dissuade any co-workers from walking away with it.
The only nitpicks I have are that it's made in China, and the knurled part of the "bolt" can be a little difficult to engage if you have large fingers. Also it can be a little difficult to retrieve from a pen pocket since it doesn't have any tab or structure above the top of the pocket clip.

Blaylock1988That heatshrink tubing is a great idea, thanks for the idea!

Instead of loctitie i used an o-ring that was originally used for silencing mx stems on a keyboard. This allowed for ease of use and maintained the screw from backing out. I think i have a unique coloration.

Yeah so here are my scenarios for use: 1. Moleskine type notebook, I use this for work, so pretty much M-F sometimes at home too. I went to Daiso and got one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Warmsky-Leather-Elastic-Notebook-Burgundy/dp/B07DH6B92N/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1534096792&sr=8-4&keywords=notebook+pen+pouch at Daiso they were ~$1.50? pretty affordable.
2. I have a Midori Travelers-type notebook. Actually it was a Rustico brand from massdrop... anyway I have an insert: https://www.amazon.com/Midori-Travelers-Notebook-Refill-Passport/dp/B003SNT0KM/ref=pd_sim_229_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B003SNT0KM&pd_rd_r=WKB17E9E4QWPBG7NH79Q&pd_rd_w=iwxyy&pd_rd_wg=RV9SU&psc=1&refRID=WKB17E9E4QWPBG7NH79Q&dpID=419XDFWWcLL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=detail that I use for it. This keeps the pen.
So for my use, I don't keep the pen in my pocket. I will always have a notebook with me. I guess I don't understand just having the pen without anything to write on...

This drop is for TWO pens? Do both pens HAVE to be the same? Can we not have one black and one brass? Could you please make that as a choice?
Do these pens come with the ink cartridge already in them? Are these FINE cartridges, or do the refills that fit this pen come in FINE? I have never had a "nice" pen, so I am not sure where to go for refills for a pen like this.

I haven't put any loctite on the "bolt". No point now though as the damage is done.
Yours on the site might be better as I assumed, but they're unavailable.

Hey man, I've had the brass version pretty much since it came out earlier this year and have put it through the ringer. The only issue I've had is that the clip is pretty darn fragile. Do you have any custom clips that are more robust? Boker replaced my broken clip, don't worry.

So addendum to my earlier comments, I received this pen early in 2018 as a birthday present and have been carrying it nearly constantly. However, as I didn't get it from massdrop, I can't add this in the reviews section. I have two Karas Kustoms Bolt pens, and the action on the brass Bolt is way smoother. It's hefty in hand but not cumbersome, and the bolt action is easy to use. The Fisher refill writes well, but I'm going to change to a different cartridge when it runs out as it's kind of "sticky" when I first start writing for the day. The oval shape of the barrel took some getting used to, but I really really liked it after a few months, and I'm carrying this pen more than my other fountain or ballpoint pens. I always get compliments when I use it.
I carry the pen in my back right pocket, and in May or June the clip got caught on a duffle bag strap and snapped. That would be my only complaint of the pen, is that the clip isn't super robust around the screw hole. However, I contacted Boker's customer service and they replied within two hours and sent me a replacement clip (with a torx allen wrench in case I didn't have one) which I received within 48 hours. I'm pretty satisfied with that customer service.
In case my tale didn't have enough ups and downs, I was at a friend's cabin at the end of June, and took all of my EDC items out of my pockets while I napped in my hammock. When I reloaded my pants, I somehow missed the pen and it laid there for a solid month before I was able to go back up and look for it. It was out in the rain, sun, and (presumably) was run over by a riding mower a few times. When I found it under the trees, it looked practically identical to when I'd lost it a month before. There was a little dirt in the mechanism and the pen refill had a little bit of surface rust, but after a quick wipe down inside and out it's back to new.
I've seen other reviewers saying that the top has come lose, but I haven't had that happen in a solid half year of use. I will agree that there's a little bit of wiggle room where the pen protrudes through the brass, but that hasn't really bothered me. The only other note I have is that the brass has been coated with something, so it hasn't taken any patina except for where my phone has rubbed a bit off on one corner. All in all for me, a favorite of my pen collection and I highly recommend it. However, again it's cheaper on other sites.

I designed this pen and as a Japanese sword maker would say "The Complexity is in the Simplicity" JohnnyTheC states its a cheap pen, but everyone who has one - who has held one - who has written with one - would give you a different impression. I have never had one of my customs come back - I have only twice seen the customs sold on the secondary market for a profit. I can never keep it in stock and even this production version it is usually sold out. The Oval shape is unique and comfortable --- The Bronze is my favorite - I love the weight and how it feels in the hand. Go to my FaceBook page and ask people who actually own one what do they think....

It's absolutely ludicrous how long I have to wait for a pen. This isn't some huge issue, I'm not massively impacted, but it's just a little annoying that I'm out $32 and have nothing to show for it. There's nothing I can say that will suddenly invigorate your manufacturing staff to get it done quicker, but I would've expected a little bit of anticipation for high sales.

Maybe this is just me but from the photos, I thought this pen would be perfectly cylindrical, not like an oval shape. Photos of the pen head on or a shot with the pen on its back with another one on its side beside it would have helped.

Hey Massdrop, just to be clear: this is only the brass version right? There weren't options at checkout and most of the specs are for brass, however the materials still lists "aluminum or brass".
