I bought two of these scopes fro my daughter and I. The quality is good. The image is sharp but it is a bit hard to focus the image just right. This is probably the reason for the lower ratings. This scope is better than toy quality but no way near what a great monocular is but then this is at a fraction of a cost. You can't buy a perfect car for under $1000 so don't set the bar too high. Bottom line, I would buy it as a gift.

Unfortunately this scope is not worth the cost of shipping! I was so surprised that this was a Brunton product as it falls into the dollar store junk category for me.

Well-made little scope. Focus dial works well, gives good visibility even form a far distance. Very small, so easy to store and transport.

Well made, solid. Clear and detail image, not that sensible to low light!

pretty handy and nice size

Junk...bad optics and flawed lens. Flushed money down the toilet

Brilliant! For it size, functionality, durability and portability are outstanding. Great gift, too.

I suspect that it is a fake. Brunton wouldn't be in business very long if this was the quality of their merchandise. Never a clear image. Always a little out of focus.

Not quite what I think so. The texture is not delicate. Though the function is okay.

While a pocket scope is limited in magnification, the Brunton is surprisingly strong for its size. My personal test passed with flying colors - to spot a stop sign a block away or read a street name sign from the same distance is one of the main uses and they both work perfectly for me. Great for public transportation when a GPS device is not available.

I've been pondering a monocular for my EDC and for use hiking for a while, but not sure if I'd prefer it over my compact Nikon binoculars. The Nikons are just too big for EDC and I want something lighter for hiking. I find this scope useful, the size and weight work well for EDC but haven't had a chance to hike with it. I was surprised at how close it focuses, it could be used to look at bugs and such. On the down side, the field of view (if that's the right term) seems small and I really get that whole "looking through a toilet tube" experience that I don't really get using the compact Nikons. After my experience with these, I will definitely look at other brands/models to see if a higher price-point monocular eliminates these concerns. While I like this product, its not what I'd choose as a final solution.

Normally I like Brunton products but this “scope“ is cheap and barely works.

Convenient and pocket size. Take it anywhere.

For the price, this monocular goes beyond expectations. It is a piece of my EDC.

Love it. 5 stars

Cheap junk! Don’t waste your money. I have a set of binoculars that were made for Brunton years ago that I still have, are very good quality and were priced as such. You get what you pay for.

Not too shaby

Blurry, unclear image at all zoom levels. The idea of a lightweight, compact and zoomable monocular appealed to me for hiking and backpacking. However this one falls short. Shame.

Build quality is ok, the focus ring is smooth and the zoom is also nice. When zoomed in you need to be very still, very hard to use because your heartbeat will make the visual bouncy. Also there is only 1 lens cover so other side is not protected when you put in the pouch.

Gets into the pocket, taken to places where you wouldn't take a big one
