I stated history facts to back my point. I refuted your inane comment about BMW producers. Now I will debunk another inane comment of yours: "That's literally what you have been doing on every comment that has expressed an interest in this watch " - there are 108 comments in this thread and I made only 7 of them... You are keep talking nonsense while I made my point clear, so, I stop talking to you.

BorovYou have made no point. Instead only engaged in some wicked projection of yourself onto others. The only nonsense is your victim mentality. 'History Facts' All you did was copy/paste a list of things Russia did that were not good. Ignoring the point I made that if we are going to 'compare lists' other countries are FAR FAR bigger. You say because Germany is letting in immigrants (forgetting that Germany does not actually control its immigration policies) that the profits BMW and VW made under the Nazis are no big deal! O.K. )

"A nod to another era..." and a homage to an inhumane regime that killed millions of its citizens and repressed many hundred thousands more (and deprived all the rest of them of basic human and civil rights).
Eagerly awaiting an opportunity to buy some "Third Reich" watches here. Once North Korea is liberated from under the Kim regime, we'll need a way "to be a part of history" in that part of the world too, and thus we'll need watches that say, "The Wisdom of the Kims", or, for short, "Juche."
Way to go, Massdrop!
Western world hypnotized by some skilled propagandists much?

Use the word "clichés" instead of "stamps"; someone who doesn't know any language beside English will not be able to understand what you mean. So, see, I know not only the word "metodichka", but also the word "shtampy", and many other words. Also, please do not use the cliché "Russiphobic" where I have not even touched on Russia as an entity (though that could be a topic unto itself); but it speaks volumes that you feel accosted as a Russian where there is criticism of the Soviet Union... But back to the topic at hand:
No, I didn't "admit" (confirm) your point of view, because it could not be further from the truth.
If the state, as an entity, survives a social upheaval and is able to transform itself, it means that it is healthy at its core and has been built on correct principles. This is not negated by the fact that the person or persons who formulated those principles could be imperfect and were unable to see that their actions ran counter to the ideas that they espoused. Jumping from a discussion of one entity to a discussion of different entities (people who play a role in a history of a state _are_ not that state) is false logic. Entities like the Confederation, the Third Reich, and the Soviet Union did not survive a change in ideology; that means that they were at their cores incompatible with the ideas of human rights etc.
So, once again, a watch that says "USSR" is indistinguishable from a watch that says "The Third Reich" or "the Confederation".
Massdrop should really see if Thor Steinar would be amenable to doing a drop here.

keybers Well, I used "russophobic" cliché relatively to the cliches that you used in your answers.  > any language beside English  Is the "cliché" a French word, isn't it? It's strange, but all Russian words that you know can not be called neutral, they carry a negative connotation. Where do you take them from? > yes, the Confederate flag is equivalent to the Nazi flag, you happy? > No, I didn't "admit" (confirm) your point of view   It may be better to think before write? >If the state, as an entity, survives a social upheaval and is able to transform itself, it means that it is healthy in its core and has been built on correct principles.  Russia is the legal successor of the USSR, same people now live in Russia as in the USSR, modern Russia as a whole recognized the mistakes of the USSR. Also the USSR defended the rights and interests of a democratic majority, using methods unacceptable by today's standards, but nonetheless. Does this mean that the USSR was healthy in its core and was built on correct principles?  Then what are we discussing here? And thanks for the little lesson of the English!

Dear Massdrop, selling goods with Soviet symbols is the same as you would sell products with Nazi symbols. For us - Lithuanians, Estonians, Polish - Soviets are and always will be occupants, killers and deporters to Siberia.

What about large number of Lithuanians, Estonians, Latvians and Poles that were helping Nazi’s to murder Jews? Concentration camps were full of troopers from Baltic states and Poland who were helping Nazi’s to gas and kill Jews!!! Shall everyone now stop buying anything which is made in those countries??? History can’t be changed, reversed or erased.

I'll just add my own voice noting that 'USSR Heritage' is a profoundly tasteless phrase. Read up on the Katyn Forest (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katyn_massacre) and Vasily Blokhin (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vasily_Blokhin), if nothing else. Then there's the murder of the Tsar and his family (whose centenary was just last week), the massacres of bishops, priests, monks & nuns, of landowners, the Great Purge — the Soviet Union's history was an unremitting march of death.
Bad choice Massdrop, very bad choice.

History shows that large companies can and do get things very wrong in a great many number of cases. I don't think Massdrop would get bad publicity for this, but maybe someone there has some morals and understands what "paying homage to this era" means.
You need to check the dictionary definition of homage: [Collins] a public show of respect or honour towards someone or something [American Heritage Dictionary] a. Special honor or respect shown or expressed publicly. b. Something created or done in honor, admiration, or celebration of someone or something
Honor, admiration, and celebration of a regime that managed to keep itself respectable only due to the fact that it sort of helped to bring down its direct counterpart (Nazi Germany), which it had at first encouraged in getting out there and starting the land grabs (the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact).
Just wow!

It is very interesting how somewhat hypocritical a lot of these comments are... your objection to the name of the watch because of the history of the country of origin 🤔but do you feel the same way about Mercedes Benz and all the great watches that come from Germany Italy Japan who all have done some horrendous things in the past😎

Josephivory65Mercedes doesn't have swastika as its logo. And if you ask someone from Mercedes what they think about nazies they will not say a word of support. By wearing something like that you admire it. So, it is you who is playing mental gymnastics here.

This watch is coming in for a lot of stick because of the CCCP logo and that's fair enough on the one hand but not everything associated with the Soviet regime is bad. As far as WW2 is concerned the Red Army beat the shit out the Nazis all the way from Stalingrad back to Berlin. Without their input a lot more Americans, Britons and other allied nations personnel would have lost their lives. As far as the watch itself goes I would think it is Chinese at heart. If you want a truly Russian watch go with a Vostok or for better quality something with a Poljot movement in it.

Not totally.
Politics aside, as a personal thing I'm finding it difficult to reconcile my liking of the design of the watch with the distaste I feel for a government that my great grandfather fled from. "Another era" where the KGB literally spied on places of worship, and sent people to Siberia for practicing religion, where one didn't know who in prison was a friend, or a plant of this "CCCP" to make sure that nobody was thinking freely in prison... If he were alive, or frankly, anyone in my family saw me wearing this, they'd be disgusted. If you can get past that, looks nice. Pass, for me.

I wrote a couple of minuts ago here: "Dear Massdrop, selling goods with Soviet symbols is the same as you would sell products with Nazi symbols. For us - Lithuanians, Estonians, Polish - Soviets are and always will be occupants, killers and deporters to Siberia". So my question remains the same: would you accept to buy very nice and beautiful artifacts, objets etc. with Nazis symbols here? Did you know, that in Baltic States, Poland all Soviet symbols are forbidden by low? Of course, it is your choice to buy this watch and other Soviet decorated products - I will never do! Sorry for that discussion, but for us everything what reminds Soviet period reminds about spirit slavery and death. Good luck wearing that watch.

valius55It's your choice. For your peace of mind, I'll not purchase that watch because I'm looking for another piece in terms of design. And if in case that any customer decided to purchase it, nobody has the right to treat them like an accomplice of the crimes or abuses commited years ago in a former country ruled for a former political regime . My country, Chile, fortunately didn't was under a regime such as you described but I can "walk ini the shoes" of people that suffer because of suppression of their real basic human rights.
