Its soooooo ugly that its beautiful. As for the hard opening, there is a tension screw under the clip. 1/8 of a turn and it flips out just fine.

I love this knife first and foremost, the blade design is a perfect slicer. It is my eDC but it is a heavy kjife for those wondering, the blade is thick the handle is thick and extremely solidly built. A real hard working knife, not a gentleman folder. The assisted opening is a real lifesaver because the retention spring is almost too tight. The only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars is the thimb stud is small and possibly not in the best position for easy opening. I would have liked a slightly larger stud or for it to be a 1/4” further towards the tip giving opening it a but more leverage.

The thumb stud is too close to the hinge making the knife hard to open initially, but the spring assist kicks in early helping to overcome that. I'm personally a fan of the blade shape and this knife has become one of my more frequent EDC blades.

Opening is difficult and the thumbstud is inadequate. It's too small.

Solid knife, good blade. Opening it is difficult and the thumbstud is inadequate - too small and placed in an awkward location. It would be a good knife to equip with a flipper, but as configured, it's disappointing.

Nice knife, like all if these you have to choke up on the handle (like a baseball bat) and flick the knob with your thumb... Takes practice but choking up will do the job.

As I said in the comments section team... avoid this model. It has design flaws.

The blade is fine and a very useful shape. The opening of the knife is near impossible though. The thumbstud is too small and the resistance so tight you need two hands. Pretty much makes the knife useless in most situations.

JakeDYou have to choke up like a baseball hat, that's the key to these things.
