Got the full sheepskin today for my HD6XX and loving the additional warmth. I can’t say high frequencies are negatively affected vs stock pads.
Noticeable increase in clamping force due to additional volume but the memory foam is softer than stock foam. Overall, I think it’s more comfortable.
Appearance wise, there’s no comparison.. 6XX should’ve shipped with this. Build quality is great and smells quite nice too :)
Dekoni, out of interest, where are these made? It doesn’t say anything on the box.
In summary it’s a keeper for me.. this + 6XX + Schiit Stack will keep me entertained for many years to come.
Icculus514Each type of pad makes different alterations to the sound. We've published the data for many of the pads, and those that visited @ RMAF got to witness first hand the sound testing. When swapping pads you can expect the following things in general.
Sheepskin- As it is a less porous material, there will be more isolation, and therefore the perception of more low frequency response.
Fenestrated Sheepskin- With the cut holes, there is less isolation than sheepskin, HOWEVER the fenestration on the inner ring reduces reflections.
Hybrid- this is a little of the best of all worlds. With the sheepskin exterior you have pretty good isolation, The velour is probably the MOST comfortable on the face of the ears, and the fenestration inside helps with the reflections.
Velour- Many open back headphones have velour pads, as there is not much concern of bleed or loss of sound as the backs of the headphones are open to begin with. This will remain close to the original sound signature.
For those of you who own Dekoni pads for other headphones, you know we are equally focused on comfort and sound, and you should expect no less from this new drop.
Got the most expensive sheepskin ones for my HD650's and after 2 months of regular use the leather started to peel out and fell apart from the seams. And apparently since it didn't happen in 14 days of purchase, I couldn't get a refund or replacement. I expected a lot more from a premium product like this..

EDIT JULY 2018
I have contacted Dekoni and they were extremely professional and apologetic about this and sent me a new set.
I will keep you updated, but I am more satisfied now and the pads really do have a great sound.
I just came across this. Please reach us direct at sales@dekoniaudio.com and we'll get you a new set. Please also include pics of the issue and your massdrop receipt
For those who asked the Pads are 29mm in depth vs the original pads which are 27mm. the perception is a little greater as our pads are a little more squared off vs the original which are more rounded (not talking about pad oval, we're talking about the edges). The squared off hugs the face/ears better.
If you want non-stock 6XX pads you pretty much have to get in on this drop. Good luck finding pads for them anywhere else. I’m waiting for reviews of these to see how they change the sound considering that the 600 line is the least pad rolled headphones ever.
The memory foam is quite dense and form fits well, as its the same foam as in all of our other premium models of ear pad. The depth in general helps with low frequency response as your ear is not right up against the driver, which is one of the inherent problems in the HD series headphones.
Cancelled my order. Soon as the Dekoni rep comments about sound change I'll re-join, but for now their lack of comment on the matter is a bit disturbing.
I find it to be very off putting that Dekoni seems to be unwilling to comment about how these alter the sound signature on the hd600 and hd650. Really we need before and after fr graphs. As the Senn's are known to be almost impossible to pad swap, and not have it sound like hot garbage, I am not willing to buy these without knowing. Someone else can be the lab rat.
FuckHead-FiThis was 6 weeks ago that I posted that, way to necro an old comment. In the interim they were forced to post fr graphs due to negative responses like mine. So, there was absolutely no reason for your comment.
