I received my Natural Shell Cordovan yesterday. The colour is significantly darker than I had expected, but that's fine; the quality is exactly as I had hoped. The edges are nicely burnished, the fittings are lacquered & fit well, and the leather feels & looks wonderful.
The loop is longer than I'd expected, which perhaps makes it a little unwieldy when not attached to a belt, and perhaps a little too short for alternative use (wrist-strap). In practice however, it functions as expected.
I'm very happy with my purchase, and hope to see more District Leather products here soon! Cheers!
I have had mine in #8 shell for over a year, it still looks great. I use it for a work badge which is strapped to me five days a week. Excellent quality. I would love to see more District Leather offerings through Massdrop...
Just received mine, in color 8 shell cordovan. For the price, I am happy with it, but the edges on mine were not burnished. Also, for anyone ordering color #8, I guess shell #8 varies from chromexcel #8, because this is quite a bit darker than what I expected. Below is a picture of the keychain in shell #8, next to the toes of my boot in chromexcel #8, just to show the color difference. Overall, still pleased with the purchase, considering the price.
Chevalier Captoes. I've since gotten a belt in #8 CXL, and it's slightly lighter than the keychain, but not as reddish as the shoes. I'm guessing there's just a bit of variation among each batch.
