GuoJingopen back vs closed back.. they are 2 different realms to compare. I would suggest reading some reviews on both to see which descriptions match the experience you desire.
GuoJingThanks guys for the replies.
I have read quite fe reviews.
But not sure of th-x00 is worth the extra 200 bucks.
As in is there a significant increase of overall sound quality?
Or basically both are good n are suitable for different types of music.
Lastly my type of music are vocal, jazz, pop and very seldom techno or rock.
A7xx or Th-X00 for me? Please advise.
Thanks!
GuoJingThese are 2 very different headphones, each has strengths and weaknesses in different areas. You may as well be asking if a tour bus or a helicopter is of a higher quality.
GuoJingYou didn't get an exactly clear answer, but the biggest one is going to be bass.
The K7XXs have great sound, are very light and comfortable, and you will be able to hear everything around you while you have the headphones on as they are open back/not muffled. However there is VERY LITTLE to no bassy sounds.
The TH-X00s are closed back, denser (so heavier) but still comfortable, and sound will get trapped in with your ears. If someone is talking to you, you wo n't hear them. You'll have a richer sound with a lot more bass backing up the sound.
Since you said you listen to mostly vocal, jazz and pop, the open backs will probably do just fine for you. Open backs also make opera sound great. But with an open back, the max volume will feel a bit quieter than with closed back.
I really like my boyfriend's K7XX's (I have Beyerdynamic DT880s) but when we upgraded to semi closed back I was much happier because of the bass-heaviness of my preferred music.
GuoJingI've been asking myself same question for about 6 months now lol! Finally I've decided that I'm getting the xoo tonight! From what I've heard they at least worth 400$ for the amount of fun they bring to ur ears.
How is k7xx compare to th-x00? 200 dollars difference
