If wind resistance is your primary concern, I'd recommend considering a Blunt: https://www.bluntumbrellas.com/au/ Pretty amazing in terms of durability / wind proofing. Unfortunately i don't find them as stylish as the traditional single stick and Fox designs (although a lot of people actually like the modern design).
Me, I prefer the old world charm. Unfortunately, have yet to find anything in that category that withstands a thrashing from the elements the way the Blunt does. :(

Nick0+1 for Blunt, I have two of them. They aren't cheap, but really are worth it.
They would be a good brand to do a drop on.

Anybody know much about the wind resistance on this? How would it compare to a solid stick? Wind in New York eats umbrellas.

Would be nice if these were offered in some bright, visible colors (yellow, orange, lime green). If you're using an umbrella, chances are it's gloomy and raining, could even be night time. I believe in being seen in hope of not ending up as a hood ornament on some speeding SUV.

j.w.wimpyOriginally I wanted a black umbrella but they only had cyan and now I realize that when I was walking at night. Also bright colors as easier to tell people apart.

I've seen some umbrella that is so strong that it can be used as a martial arts weapon. Is this one such umbrella?

I've been happy with mine. The Black Watch Tartan was definitely worth it if you're on the edge. Looks great in person!

Disappointed with the drop. The string attached to my umbrella fell out after 3rd use.

Solid stick Fox had been great for me. Really interested to see how this compares.
