Amanda Murphy is coming out with some wonderful rulers for domestic or longarm. They have lots of helpful marking on them and don't require you to add non slip tape or anything on the back.

Hi, I have a Janome 6600, high shank. Would this work with my machine? Would love to purchase it... if it would work. Thanks!

On metal vs. acrylic, I wasn't happy with my Westalee foot. If I didn't have a Bernina foot, which is fabulous, I would definitely try the Clarity. Also, I bought the Amanda Murphy book and am happy with it. However, I don't find circle rulers all that useful, but that might just be me.

If it helps, I bought the Clarity clear acrylic ruler foot here on Massdrop over a year ago and have had no issues with its durability. I am a hobbyist though, so it's not in constant use. I like that it's completely clear for a little extra visibility, but that's just me.
I also took a beginning "quilting with rulers" class with Alfonsina (the woman behind the Quilting Colors rulers) when she toured the US last year. I got a lot out of the class and am happy with the 6-piece rulers I bought that day. Compared to similar sized Westalee rulers, I think this is a good deal, so I'm going to try them. I have not used the Quilting Colors foot other than that one day; am going to pick one up here to try it out.

I was prepared to commit to the drop at $69.99 until I read that the feet were "colored" which leads me to believe they are plastic rather than metal. Are these ruler feet made of metal or plastic? If they are made of plastic, is there a replacement guarantee if they crack or break? I missed the Westlake brand drop and since I've seen drops come back around, I hoped I would be able to catch it the next time but (SandyLucas) in another discussion indicates that is not happening.

PeaRexHi PeaRex, These are acrylic and not metal. Unfortunately, we can't get Westalee on the site. I should clarify that it's actually the US distributor that won't work with the Massdrop community. I wish I had a different answer.

Thank you! I will contact them and see if they want to work with the Massdrop community.

SandyLucasGood. I forgot to say that they also make a 1/2 inch foot.

Do you know if the high shank foot will fit a Husqvarna Mega Quilter? Unlike all the other Vikings, the Mega Quilter takes a 'special high shank' foot so I'm wondering if this one will fit or not. Thank you.

NinmahHi Ninmah, I will have to check in with our vendor. It may take a a day or two to get an answer back but I will post here when I hear. Not sure if this will help but in case it may, I'm adding it.

Will this work on domestic machines? Or just long arm?

mcindoodleIt's intended for both. If using a domestic machine you would need to use it with a ruler foot.
