I've been on several 10+ mile rucks with these, and they are great! I love the room in the toebox. The lacing system locks your heels in place. They are fairly lightweight and very rugged.
I've found these to be great all around outdoor boots. I've taken them to the harsh salt deserts of NV, the Rocky Mtns of CO, and, with the exception of some debris getting inside at one point, have never had a complaint about them. Ok, maybe one complaint, but it's insignificant: the laces take a while to loosen/tighten, lol
These boot are fantastic for the price. Super comfortable, relatively easy to take on and off, very lightweight and supportive. I could stand or hike all day in them. The 10.5 wide size fit my size 10.5 slightly wide foot snugly, but comfortably. I do wish they came in a darker color that hid stains and dirt better. A few negatives: They slip like crazy on wet stuff, even rocks. They have a tendency to pick up small stones and other stuff in the treads. The laces are spaced really widely so a good portion of the support comes from the laces and you can feel them slightly through the tongue. Last criticism: The eyelets with the ball bearing in them dig into my ankle painfully if I don't keep that portion of the lacing a little on the loose side. Even so, I wear these almost every day--great summer footwear if you live/work in rugged country.
Outstanding Confort. Better than my Corcoran Air Force model at just a fraction of price.
Only complaint I have is the fact that they get stained easily. I’m not sure if they sell something for cleaning/maintenance of the formerly.
Be warned: these run very narrow.
Every measurement I took indicated that 7.5W would be the correct size for me. The length was perfect, but the width was painfully narrow. Sad that I could neither wear nor return these boots, as they otherwise look and feel very nice.
Dear Massdrop and/or Garmont: Please make these available in XW or even XXW sizes!
Don't see the hype about these boots.
Comfort wise - they're ok, but nothing to write home about.
Durability wise was very disappointed. See pic below to what happened only after 3 days of hiking in mountains.
LevBthanks for your review giving your honest take on the shoe. It seems like from the way your shoe broke its more a defect/manufacturing issue that I'm sure any reputable manufacturer would fix or replace if they were informed of the issue with their shoe. That being said the fact that this kind of thing that would just break off in 3 days even happened is disconcerting. I've had at least 10 shoes and even snowboard boots with vibram soles and it usually seems to be that the shoe gets more damaged than the sole or they get very worn and the shoe starts detaching from the sole.
3rd pair of these boots... don’t buy these expecting them to last them a super long time bc they don’t... loved everything else about these boots but I wasn’t gonna buy another pair for full price of around 150 but at 75 I jumped all over it
I am using them in Saudi Arabia winter, they are very good boots, good respiration and comfy as a sneaker..... looks very good as well I had 20 people asking about them
