Great bottle to use where you are required to have a bear canister. I use this for making flavored drinks while backpacking and I can collapse it and easily put it in my bear canister and not worry about bears or other critters chewing on it.
I do add one of those silicone mouth piece inserts to make it easier to drink from. The wide mouth is great for adding powder mixes but it tends to spill when drinking. The insert fixes this issue.

Just finished a 3000k bike tour using these for extra water capacity with no issues. Didn't have any issue with taste like some others have mentioned. Yes they are hard to drink out of but i decant from these into my bidon so again, no issue. I like how if you only have the thing part full, you can collapse it down to to accommodate just that amount so no wasted space. They do take up a little bit of space when empty but i was struggling to think of anything else which would take up less space for the potential capacity (apart from a bladder which I am loath to use).

They work great, but took some time to get rid of the plastic taste.

Have four total - love them all
Love these things for their compact size when packed up and very generous capacity. Less clunky than some other collapsible water bottles. Definitely recommend trying to let them dry out before compressing back to small size when possible and stick with water only, as cleaning can be a bit of a pain. Years later and still going strong. Great for trips and easy to pack and keep clean. Never have had any taste issues.

the material quality is good just like their larger water bladders, but the twist method and the screw in clasp both are not very convenient especially when on the go- it is difficult to line up in a hurry, and 90% of the time I just leave them crooked. Great stuff but poor "user interface".

I got two of these and yes they were not the easest to figure out how to open! I'd suggest better instruction on how to open them. Other than that Love them. Very easy to fly with they take almost zero room . fit realy nice open in the outer mesh pocket of my camear bag.

I bought two of these and just got them. After 20 minutes of trying I can't open either one. There is no way my wife will be able to use these. It says to squeeze the tabs, and twist, but the tabs are not clearly marked. If I can't open them, makes them unusable. Will never buy this again. What a waste of money.

The bottles shown on the HydraPack website have a nice handle on the bottom for opening these. The Massdrop site does not display the bottom of theirs which lack the handle. Without the handle these are difficult to open once closed.
These just went from "can't wait to try" to "probably won't use them".
I feel a bit taken advantage of and shall be extra cautious when ordering from Massdrop in the future.
FOLLOW-UP: I DID receive a great response from the company explaining how to use the bottles. It was a bit of "operator error" on MY part, but the fact I needed a primer was on the vendor and mfg. So I am bumping my review up a star because of good response but the initial information was still lacking. Suggest a better job of editing from the perspective of the customer.
The bottles are handy and I will use them, now that I know how. But they are not intuitive.

Got this pair for me and my partner for a multi-flight trip. Very useful for airports since it collapses down and you can attach it via loop to the outside of your bag or whatever, then refill once you're past security. When walking around, the loop is also handy to hang off something. I find it useful for regular work use as well, since it takes up less space than a Nalgene.
Opening and closing takes some getting used to but with practice it's fast enough and it's worth the space savings and form factor.
Drinking can feel a little awkward as the body isn't rigid but the top and bottom are. I find it helps to grasp the top and support the bottom, but yeah, you're using two hands at this point. On the other hand, I drank beer from it just fine. Bottle tastes fine to me, but if it hasn't been used in a while it does need to be rinsed a few times.
If you're more active or need to drink while moving, there are better options. But for casual travel and regular daily use it's a great option.

I wrote this in the comment section but I’d like to write an official review of this terrible product. Love the idea of it but like many have stated, this bottle transfers a very noticeable chemical-like taste to the water after a week or two of regular use. Thorough cleaning does NOT rid the bottle of this chemical taste. I understand hydrapak makes a proprietary soap to clean the bottles with. What kind of racket does hydrapak have going on here? DO NOT BUY
