I watch MLB on my computer at night in my hotel room when I am on business trips. However, I use my tablet if I'm still working on my computer in the room so this stand is perfect to hold and tilt my iPad at the perfect viewing angle so I can "multitask", lol. For late dinners or drinks in the bar, I can use this stand to watch the games on my iPhone. It folks up pretty compactly so it fits nicely in my briefcase during the day and, it is very solid and sturdy. It's going to last a long time. Hopefully MLB will start it's season soon. Go Red Sox!
This stand gets used at least once a day in our house, especially now that we're all in here together every day trying to work from home. Tablets, cellphones, the Switch -- it holds them all beautifully. I've even used it to prop up a magazine while I was trying to follow a recipe.. maybe not completely ideal, but it got the job done! I'll be buying another at some point, no question.
The *only* reason I didn't go full five-stars on it is because some of the little rubber pads that are meant to protect your gear while in the cradle have either shifted or fallen off over time. Not a huge issue to be sure, but it's worth mentioning.
I got this to hold up my phone for viewing vids when working. Solid construction but light weight. I am handicapped and cannot lift much with my hands. This is great!! Used it outdoors to hold up my tablet in a rugged case. No issues of tipping over or slipping. Completely adjustable. Folds down so I can slip it in my bag to carry easily. I love that I can charge my devices while being held up vertically. You have to get this. Great buy in my opinion.
I had bought something similar on Amazon a while back for about the same price and loved it ever since. It was clean, weighty, and very smooth with adjustments. Figured I could perhaps grab a second stand of similar build to leave at work. Unfortunately the new stand leaves little to be desired.
The Kikstand pales in comparison to my nameless alternative. It weighs less, the edges are rough, and is very stiff. Due to these circumstances, it requires two hands to adjust rather than one. Attempts to break in the joints yields hardly any sign of a smoother transition. It came to the point where pieces of a plastic washer started coming out of one of the joints. The edges almost feel like they weren't properly deburred but i think the rough edges were due to the quality of paint used to make it silver (though if you could counter sink the holes then why not just chamfer the edges too).
Disappointment aside, it does the job. But with the thought of that for the same price on Amazon, I could get a similar product with arguably better quality, I'm not happy with what I got. If I use it as simply a stand for my devices, I can ignore the faults, but in the end it's a blemish in my purchasing history.
It's a nice phone stand. The build quality is good, it looks good, and it folds up nicely. The joints are a bit loose at certain angles but otherwise works great.
