Mine came last Friday, ordered on 9/21 set it up over the weekend. So far so good. Any recommendations\sites\videos for best picture setting for Ps4 pro or Xbox One X?
Is there an ETA on when orders placed 9/23 will ship? I have a vacation the last week of October so I'm getting nervous.
Mine came and I unboxed it today.
Not only was the base cracked, the entire panel has a giant crack going down the center of it. How do I return this?
So 77" is $5k. Is that a reasonable price? Other places (e.g., Best Choice AV, HD Vision MAX) have it for less, but MD is more reputable to me. I'm on the fence if I join or wait for Black Friday sales. Thoughts?

Those places you mentioned are scam sites. Do a little research on them. You wont buy there.
Is this the exact same version of the TV that you would get new from a certified LG retailer (like Best Buy) and does it come with a LG warranty since MD is listed as not being an authorized reseller on the LG website?
Keterator
Yes, it is the exact TV, US Goods, brand new in the box, and will have full LG Warranty and support.
When will this be back up again after the drop ends, and what time does the drop end?

Can I have the dates?
HeroXLazer
sorry about that. I edited my post.
Aye look it's a TV
PreKill
and an AWESOME TV at that!
Says 77" but checkout says 75"....

Yeah, figured that but wanted clarity from MD. I ordered as soon as this went live and ordered the 77" from the last drop 3 weeks ago. That order was canceled last minute after 3 weeks! I even paid my CC bill for it. I want to make sure there are zero excuses for a cancellation after another 3 week wait for this drop........ Wanted to watch the MLB playoffs on this set and now looks like I will miss the majority from the first cancellation. but glad to see it back up...

We have updated the drop to the correct size of 77".
@B.Hutch My friend purchased this drop for 55" and got an email from Massdrop with a tracking number on September 5. He has still yet to receive his TV. Also, when clicking on the tracking number link, it says that "The shipment carrier doesn't have the tracking information in their system yet." Is this expected?
kangstarr
Howdy Kang, I would have your friend contact our community support team so that we can get this straightened out. Cheers.
kangstarr
I had the same issue. They gave me a DHL tracking number. But it was a UPS tracking number. Try using UPS website
Howdy Everyone, We have extended this drop through the weekend. This will not effect the expected shipping date. Cheers.
GreenToe is accepting $2240 for the 65inch C8, taxes included. The TV is invoiced and shipped from an authorized LG retailer.

Anyway to get a 75 inch option?
neemaf
Yes, we should be running the 77" again in a couple of weeks. You can request it here so you will be notified when it drops. https://www.massdrop.com/buy/lg-77-c8-4k-oled-tv-w-hdr-smart-ai-thinq
I'm out of town till oct 11. The ship date is October 12. Will that work?
I read the response above saying it is possible to ask the shipper to delay but I'm nervous they could decline to do so. Given the 24 hour inspection period the whole thing is sketchy...
elrodvt
We are letting members know that this is not possible for Massdrop to arrange this or help with delaying shipments.
Can the shipment date be adjusted ? Otherwise this would arrive while I am out of town which doesn't work. To be clearer I want to delay shipment a month.

Once this drop ends you can click a request button on the drop page. Then when it goes live again it will email you.

Just for clarification, shipping and delivery are two different things. My tv SHIPPED on one date, but when the delivery company contacted me I was able to have it delivered at a later date when I was going to be home.
I really wanted the C7 that had a drop about 4 weeks ago. They held my 1500$ for about a month till their supplier supposedly couldn't get any C7s and refunded my money. Needless to say I still want one, but it's close enough to black Friday that I may see what the price comes down on this then . I'd rather not have that much money being held for nothing.
Does the C8 accept a standard headphone jack and if not how do you use wired headphones with it, have stienhauser headphones
Vernon7771957
No, the C8 does not have a headphone jack. To get a headphone jack you have to buy either a receiver or a DAC. I had to buy a receiver (wanted one anyways) for my C8 when I got it.
Is the c8 55inch headphone compatable
What does "Primary Drop Price" mean? That the actual price you finally pay with be as stated (I.e., $1,999.99 for the 50"), or will it actually be lower? I saw that Massdrop can't post below retail MSRP, so I'm hoping to understand the amount charged when it ships. Thanks.

Tempted, very tempted.

Agreed. Don't think i can get it shipped to Hawaii. ...or at least thats what i tell myself. Great price but its still $5K
Was tempted to purchase until I saw gameliquidations on ebay has quite a few LG 55" TVs for $1699.
What is the brightness value of this set? Last year, the claim was 1000 nits with HDR enabled content (when really it was closer to 750). Anybody know on this one? Thanks!

Oh, and another caveat here: with oled panels yiur light zones are your pixels instead of groups of pixels like they are in led and other lcd displays. At least until microled displays drop later this year that is lol.
Finkz
You really think microLED sets are coming this year? (Certainly not at a reasonable price, lol.) I heard there were serious issues in trying to manufacture these, making it questionable how the price would come down even if they were released.
In any case, I am aware of the benefits of OLED. I own the 7-series and honestly, the brightness feels very limited. If with this TV it's the same, it wouldn't really be much of an upgrade (looking for a second set).
I don't know about more or less realistic (I think that's a matter of calibration), but the contrast ratio I would certainly argue would seem greatly higher, particularly for HDR content, if the TV were to go the full 1000 nits or slightly above, overpowering the .05 nits minimum the blacks might be to where you would barely be able to tell anyway, especially if there's any bit of light in the room. That's particularly the issue I have - watching during the day. The picture almost feels a bit weak (this is coming from someone who's been a proponent of OLED, practically having been an evangelist for this set).
Weirdly, I've found a lot of HDR content not to fully even go black (where the pixels turn off), and it's not a matter of calibration; I checked. The lower half of the spectrum in general is hard, no matter what combination of settings, to make really have great (realistic) contrast for HDR content for some reason as well without pushing certain settings up with mess up the picture of lighter content (making it look artificial).
While the TV is beautiful and I love WebOS, I feel that limitation in how it processes certain content, the limitation in brightness, and the constant fear of burn-in with games or connecting it to a computer interface really sets it back :/
Abe's of Maine has the 65" for $2,296...just an FYI

You literally just said that you didn't call him a liar but he was spreading false information... That is some Trump logic.
You told the guy he was spreading lies. If that's not calling him a liar, and I don't know what is
I just received the 65'" C8 OLED and the screen was cracked and it won't even turn on. I've sent several messages and got the automatic email reply, but have not received any responses yet. Anyone know how long it takes to hear back about damaged goods? Or a refund or replacement TV?

No resolution yet for me still just going back and forth with different people. Never thought it would be this hard to get resolution fir a TV was was delivered with a broken screen and won’t turn on.
brokentv
Resolved? And response yet.
No deal here. 65" c8 is available for $2300 elsewhere.
Pengy
Where’s that?
inhalethesoul
Buydig call-in on Sundays. Probably also through Greentoe since they are usually fulfilled by Buydig/Beach Camera. Firstclasstv also had it on ebay at that price recently but I think that ended for now. Wouldn't be surprised to see it get down around 2k for July 4th sales.
Slick deals had the 65” for $2,499 the other day.
So the discounted price on the 55" is identical to the highly advertised price at Best Buy: $2,299? Where's the deal here.
Obi1BonJovi
Our deal is $2099.99 for the 55".
LG says thanks for registering my tv, PRODUCT # OLED55C8PUA and gives me a serial#. I got the 65" option. Anyone else with the 65" have the same thing? Is this to be expected B.Hutch?
I'm no videophile and these newer models may not do this but I bought an LG 65" Oled something or other almost 3 years ago from Best Buy when the price had dropped from 4,999 to 3,999. I also bought 2 years extended warranty for 399. So my warranty is up in August. We had recently noticed burn-in that matched the progress bar on dvr'd shows/movies. Faint but definitely there. The Geek Squad guy was completely cool about it and gave me a phone # to call for a replacement. They offered me a store credit of 3,499 plus sales tax for a total of 3,750 or there about. I plan to get an e8 model this time plus 2 years extended warranty. The picture quality is simply unbeatable in my opinion BUT burn-in IS possible, or at least as of 3 yr. old similar OLED screens.
Tragique
Burn in is still a thing, I have a 10000$ W7 wallpaper oled at my store with "MAD MAX" burned into the screen after a couple of months
Tragique
Skip the e8. Buy a c8, and use the extra $ for some decent speakers
Can I purchase an extended warranty?
Man look at all these great features that make the original image look like crap...
Where’s the 77”?!!!!!
