A friend bought the 65 inch version and told me he thinks he doesn’t have the full warranty because Massdrop isn’t an official LG vendor. Is there any difference between buying it from Massdrop vs directly from LG as far as warranty coverage is concerned? thanks

This is a question I've been trying to get clarification on from someone representing Massdrop for a LONG time. I'm usually ignored which is why, even at this tempting price, I refuse to join any of these LG OLED drops on here.

ecolemanMy understanding based on some previous research and a response from a seller I received on a previous listing was that the actual seller will fill out the warranty info for you based on the info you provide when you order. This following part is educated speculation on my part. The seller may be an authorized dealer but as an authorized dealer they are not allowed to sell (or maybe just advertise) below a price determined by the manufacturer (LG). As such they use Massdrop as a middle man so they can get around that rule but for the warranty info they list the actual seller as the point of sale. It's a bit grey area but I'm not going to complain.

In every LG OLED TV discussion section there are always a few threads regarding the warranty. Here's my story, take it for what it's worth. I bought the LG E7P (65") from Massdrop back in Feb. 2018.  After a couple months of normal use, it developed a stuck pixel. I contacted LG about it. LG confirmed my TV was under warranty and sent a technician out. It was a 5 minute visit & he ordered a new panel for it. He was back a couple weeks later to install it. My TV is looking amazing again. So to everyone that's hesitant to buy thru Massdrop, I know from personal experience that you're covered by the LG warranty.

I'm just about to pull the trigger but won't if no real warranty. I have purchased other LG's via Massdrop that DID have a warranty so it would be good to know if this is an issue.

If we post that the drop comes with an LG warranty then thats what it comes with.

JaysunIs anything being done to resolve the "non authorized dealer" on LG's website?

This TV in 65" is also available at Costco for $2399, but includes three years of free Square Trade warranty, two years of extended warranty from Costco, and another two years if you use your Costco credit card. That's seven years total warranty, which isn't bad... Plus, Costco deals with Square Trade if they aren't behaving.

I apologise for not being clear--it's $2449 plus seven years total warranty with your Costco card, which provides 2% cashback, so roughly 2400. Sorry about that, was keeping track of the "actual" prices in my head. :)

RedmumbaAh, makes sense. The extra warranty as you stated makes it a no brainer especially when these TV's are subjected to burn in. Thanks for the info!

I got this TV from last drop. There was no issue in the box but when I turned the TV on there was a white vertical line in the right side. I asked for a replacement of the unit. But CSR was of no help saying he was waiting to hear back from the vendor. I waited 5 days to hear back then I asked for refund. Still nothing done. Terrible service. Don't waste your money. I am waiting for my $5000 refund.

baseball550Surprised MD didn't refund you directly. I have had them refund my money back to my credit card twice now for broken MD products. But those were over a year ago...

So this dropped again and was only available for one day? Second fucking time dude; What were the prices for the 65" and 77"? I'm still interested in the Sony A8F 65" for $3,000 @BestBuy but for $1,000 less I'd go for the C8

So what’s the verdict on the warranty? Is it covered by LG or not?

ArbitConstSeems pretty hit or miss, some people have had luck registering but not too many actually using the warranty.

This set is available on Newegg for 2099. It also sold by a non authorized dealer but like massdrop LG will likely warrant the product. I was hoping this would drop at that price.

LG in Australia is the worst company for warranty I have ever dealt with. Search up LG warranty, an example: https://www.productreview.com.au/p/lg-australia.html I wouldn't ever touch LG again for anything.
