For anyone else confused after receiving their sound bar and making sure the firmware was up to date:the center channel control won't show up in the LG wi-fi Speaker app (at least in iOS). It can be controlled by the remote that comes with the sound bar, or on the bar itself, though. It took me several weeks to discover this, as I'd just been using the app on my phone to adjust the speakers assuming that you could control all the settings from it. I didn't find this info anywhere else on the web, and just finally figured it out by chance. LG updated their iOS app last month, and the center channel adjustments show up there now too.
Once I was able to bump up the center channel audio, it's made a world of difference.
Cdejesus1119@Cdejesus1119 There seems to be all sorts of mixed/conflicting information about Samsung's support for Atmos on their 2017 TVs. The Q9 seems to have. The Q7 might have it for some of the built-in apps? I don't have a Vudu account to try out, and only really use Netflix, Amazon Prime, and YoutubeTV. I know that Netflix simply doesn't support Atmos on Samsung's platform - at least not yet (only LG tvs natively). I've heard conflicting things about Prime. But I don't see an Atmos indicator on things that should have it, like Jack Ryan. YoutubeTV doesn't really tell you much about what audio is going to be output.
kmeesalWorks for me, as of this post. Add it to your cart, then click checkout, the price does not update until you are in the checkout page. This is because the price of 399 is too low to advertise and against LG pricing rules.

This is still active.
However if you read the comments on the link i've just posted, many are unhappy with this soundbar even at $400. One review saying:
"Cancel this soundbar and get Sony sonos with sub if possible. You will not regret your purchase."
Is the rear wireless speaker set (LG SPK8-S) ever going to be available here? Seems like there have been a lot of LG sound bars sold, I imagine a lot of us would want these too.
DO NOT BUY THIS BAR... It is terrible when there is a loud action scene and there is also any talking you cannot understand and actually you dont hear at all what they are saying.. And there is no way to adjust the center channel.. Trust me I wasted my time with this even ordered the wireless rear speakers .. I now have the Onkyo HT-S5800 fantastic and worth every penny..
I know this is 44 weeks too late but you originally said the Onkyo HT-S5800....which does not have hrd/dolby vision passthrough with the receiver it comes with. And again it depends on you. The lg sound bar saves alot of space for people don't have much. Having said that I never bought this sound bar lol.
Ap717I just saw ur post im late also.. But ur 100% correct I had forgotten that after buying the HT-S5800 I wanted DTS X so I sold just the receiver and got the TX-NR676.. But guess what I ended up selling the complete system and going back to the LG SK10Y after they fixed there center channel problem.. And now I moved that to my living room and I now have the new SL10YG with the rear surround installed in my bedroom.. Im a happy camper now..
Got mine, and just a big disappointment with ApTV4k - apple said that LG soundbar does not support apples container for Dolby Atmos. My bar sometimes worked and sometimes not. I called LG and they asked me to send it in for repairs. They know has an issue with the motherboard. I waited 2 weeks for the box and nothing. They had it as NO warranty - I was wondering if its was a B, or C model. I explained that I got it from here and 3 weeks later the box came. I had reach massdrop customer service and got a label to send it back .... long story short KEEP THE BOX. I haven't got my refund yet ... good luck.
Btw - I got the SPK8-S and have no use. make me an offer
I am re-learning how Atmos is heard on a soundbar. For many movies, it is OK, not really making a big difference. (The Greatest Showman). For some movies, it is good not quite very good. (Mad Max:Fury Road and Hacksaw Ridge). BUT I think the way to look at Atmos on a soundbar is, that it gives some object oriented sounds but what it really gives is a very "immersive more 3D" experience. Once I accepted that the object oriented sounds were OK here and there and not great and eliminated that expectation, I truly enjoyed the immersive experience. For a soundbar, that is what I believe you need to realize. I happen to really enjoy the immersive 3D experience and think this LG SK10Y does a very good job at that!

I have this, and although it's obvious to me a true atmos setup would be better, this soundbar is pretty convincing. It sounds great with most atmos movies. The only time I felt it was a little weak was Warm Bodie where the vocal channel is all overhead.
For 5.2 and 7.1 mixes, this sounds incredible. And you can always adjust the different channels.
I think it's an amazing option for people with limited space.
