I have the Teac AI-101DA, but only use headphones. Would this + a JDS OL DAC be an update considering I never intend to use speakers? https://www.jdslabs.com/products/176/ol-dac/

LlexObjective2 solo would be an upgrade because of it's lower output impedance, don't know if you'll notice any difference with odac.

LlexNot really, at this price point there's not going to be much audible differences between DACs. It's a different story for amps though.

LlexThanks for the replies. Think i'm going to go with the NFB 11.28 instead and just be done with it.

LlexOutput impedance of NFB 11.28 is 2Ohm, o2's is 0,54 Ohm. That alone gives you almost 4 times better damping factor with o2. If your headphones are mostly high impedance ones NFB should be enough. LlexThere's not going to be a huge difference, the rule of thumb - as long as the damping factor is above 8 then it won't really matter. So with NFB's 2ohm output, you'll need a headphone that's at least 16 ohm, that's really easy to achieve.
Any distortion you get above 8 is going to be negligible, there's other sources of distortion that will outweigh any gained from damping. Even with a low damping factor, not many people are going to be able to tell the difference, and some even prefer a bit of colour to a completely neutral frequency response.
