My O2 arrived today, and my first impression is how well it drives Sennheiser HD600s from my iPod Classic 7th Gen (late 2009) source. Clean and tight, unlike the HeadRoom Total Airhead amp I bought a few years ago that did nothing for these cans. I was hoping this amp would not be another disappointment, and it isn't.
This inspires me to ask for suggestions about whether an economical external DAC would improve the sound and complement the O2, as opposed driving the O2 directly from the iPod classic 30-pin line-out? What do you think?
BTW, I'm hearing no static or channel imbalance in my O2, at any volume or gain setting. I would have preferred it if the power connector was in the back panel, but that's OK
