Just received mine about an hour ago. My Australian Shepherd dog alarm went off while I was in the shower letting me know that Fedex had arrived. Initial impression (not sound related). Packaging is better than expected. Much nicer than the Th-X00's. They come in a hinged black box that is surrounded by a thin layer of shiny branded cardboard. My son thought it was a shoebox and he said I should return them as a result. The headphones themselves are much darker blue than they look in the pictures (hard to even tell that they are not black), but I do like the look better than my Hd600's. The cord is shorter than I expected but so much more manageable than the stock TH-X00 or the Sennheiser HD600. The fit feels snugger (bordering on too tight) but maybe they just need to break in. I do not have a very big head so wondering how this may impact others. The head cushion is also different than the HD600. It is one connected contoured foam piece as opposed to 4 separate but attached pieces of foam. I need to listen for awhile before I can comment on sound but my expectation is that they sound similar to my Hd600's, which are one of my two favorites along with my Fostex TH-X00.

machnikIt is really difficult for me to describe what I hear, but I would characterize the signature to be very similar to the Hd600's, but a little less bright. That could be a function of break in at this point, but I would say that I prefer the sound signature of my Hd600's to these right now, but the difference is so slight that unless I was really comparing the two it would be hard to differentiate. That said, I am still a little unsure as to whether I am imagining it or not.
