Product Description
This slick version of the Ferrum Forge Falcon features everything you loved about the original, but with a milled front scale that resembles the bird of prey’s powerful wing. And now we're offering the brand new blacked-out version with a black stonewashed DLC blade to match the handle Read More
Well, most ZT's have reversible clips, so maybe look for a ZT design that you like. I have a ZT 0450CF which is pretty much my ultimate frame lock EDC.
Ordered Bronze. This is what came. This looks like the standard gray? Anyone else get a bronze that is not bronze at all? Not even a hint of bronze. Pretty disappointed.
Everytime I am about convinced y'all are goof balls with no concern for the customers, I run across stuff like this. Your response to this situation really helps increase my faith in your company,
LOL, many are looking for a larger version of this blade and I am the opposite. It is close but not acceptable in a TSA Security Search, (Max 2.36 inches or 6 cm). Now if Massdrop found a decent TSA approved blade, I am in the market.
yeah that's an amazing thing to even rhetorically consider.
This is not a 'volume' knife, this is an excellent knife that is made in batches of only around two thousand, we're lucky it's priced as low as it is, there were conscious decisions made to allow that price point+build quality, and overall this is a fantastic knife at a perfectly reasonable price.
There are only a handful of knives under $30 that I would consider using as my main pocketknife. $70-$200 is what a normal production knife costs these days, with some notable excellent options under $50.
Congrats on getting us buy more than 1 of the same knife by offering the fancy version a week after closing the Drop on plain ones.
I'm thinking that this practice might offend some customers.
I know that personally, If i knew there was an option to get the nicer one for just $10 more I would have waited for that one.
I know you won't do this (you will sell fewer knives), but, perhaps in the future you can least us know that there will be another Drop coming soon that includes desirable features.
I'll be receiving my NON Wing Edition tomorrow. Perhaps i'll purchase this one too. IF i'm absolutely In Love with the other.
Nice to know that there are 2 of us :)
I also don't like the thumb circle but that's there trademark feature. They will never eliminate that.
I don't like most of their lock mechanisms. If the Chaparral Raffir Noble was a liner lock I would have purchased that the moment I first saw it. And.... Pivot Bearings are against their religion over there. lol
If they took the opportunity to make this into a bigger version of the knife, I might have bought a second....
Blacked out, half an inch longer, with a steeper slope to the tip.... Call it the Raven. Heck yeah.
Over at the “Custom Knife Collaborations: Favorites and Wish Lists” section of this website that Jonas set up, I suggested that Ferrum Forge and WE Knife Co collaborate and create a more affordable Fortis Flipper, and one of the FerrumForge guys endorsed what I said and gave me a thumbs up. So, they’re in! : ) This was before I found out they were already doing this with WE for the Pro Line knife, which is incredibly similar to the Fortis...but those knives are only going to be sold at BladeHQ and KnifeCenter, not here. It would be nice if they did that here considering how BladeHQ and KnifeCenter jack up their prices on the knives they sell.

the logo really isn't that bad in person, guys. it's just like any other maker's mark on any other knife blade.
I wouldn't be too quick to dismiss this logo consequences. I did read online that the Massdrop logo actually contributes to global warming. Gotta be true if it was on the internet, or they wouldn't have allowed it.
Hey everyone,
Thanks to strong community support of the Ferrum Forge Falcon design, we're able to re-introduce this knife with a new precision-milled Wing pattern in two new colors. The Falcon is the first ever "Massdrop Made" knife, and the starting point for more collaborations between Ferrum Forge, WE Knife, and Massdrop including Crux and Gent models. It's hard to describe how awesome these guys are to work with, and how dedicated everyone on both of their teams are to delivering a product everyone is proud to have their name on. We are grateful that the community liked this one so much that we're able to bring back this popular model with a sweet facelift.
In addition to the milling pattern, the specific finishing process that you see on these was developed in close collaboration between Ferrum Forge and WE Knife. This model also features the newly-redesigned pocket clip, which offers greater flexibility and resistance to deformation or breakage. Driven by community feedback, and lab-tested to verify the improvements, this design change was implemented in a remarkably short timeframe. For more information, check out this comprehensive post with data graphs written by our in-house engineer, John Wu, in the Blades Talk area: https://www.massdrop.com/talk/3163/ferrum-forge-knife-works-improved-pocket-clips
Per the Note on Description page, this knife is being offered to members who join this pre-production drop at a special price of $139.99, with serial numbers under #0500 (per color) guaranteed to everyone who joins. Please also note that we will be closing the drop at 10:00 pm on 1/31/18 in order to get a jump on production, and then reopening for the whole month of February (or while supplies last). We have posted an Estimated Ship Date of 6/29/18, but we hope this will enable us to reduce the lead time for production.
Thanks to everyone who joined past drops for the Falcon, as well as all the members who are just hearing about the Falcon for the first time.

I really don't think it's coincidence that you put the picture of the blade without the Massdrop logo as the main picture.
I've mentioned it before, I'll mention it again- I'll pay more money if you take your logo off the blade.
People aren't walking around showing people their knives. They're using them. This isn't a viable advertising technique, it's simply limiting your sales.
Thanks and I'll check in next time.
OmniseedIt was so odd that they catered to my desire and reworked the logo as to no longer be an eyesore.
After that, I started buying massdrop colab knives. Funny how feedback works.
Even more odd? You are replying to a 20 week old comment chain about somebody else's opinion. Perhaps just move on with your day next time.
Would love to get in on this drop, but 6.8 inches overall length is just too small for a man with large hands. Anyone know if this is available in a larger version?
