OK, so I have a question: I'd like to get a balanced cable for these that will fit an Astell & Kern AK100ii and an Onkyo DP-X1 DAP (2.5 mm jack), as well as these Noble UIEMs, of course: does anybody have a suggestion? I've no experience at all with balanced cables or headphones/IEMs, but I've just picked up (oh man, what am I doing...) the DP-X1 for CyberMonday and I'd like to 'balance' these IEMs. The Onkyo player seems well set up for balanced ear-gear. Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you.
geemoneybeI really hope that these IEMs are efficient cause I've tried the Onkyo and they really suck at pushing my U10. But since it seems you've already gotten the Onkyo there's nothing to do about that. ALO has their sale going right now you can pick up a silver-copper cable for 99 USD (http://aloaudio.deals/shop/sxc-24-iem-cable-custom-2-pin/) or a cheaper version for 69 USD (http://aloaudio.deals/shop/tinsel-iem-cable/) . There's obviously differences between the two you might want to look into.
There's also a ton of other cable manufacturers that probably have sales going on. I've never trusted ebay or aliexpress especially not for something you've just thrown 600 USD for a player at.
Edit: OFC there are other types of materials in cables that have different effects on the audio but you'll have to know what you like before I can give an approximation of what might work best for you. IMO you can't go wrong with silver-copper especially not at that price tho.
