I guess if you like that kind of gimmicks in a watch, it is a good deal. I'll take a manual winding or automatic watch any day over this one. Like I said, it looks very nice, but for the price I can get something much nicer.
I own many automatic and manual winding watches, never had a problem. You get what you pay for.
hrfdezWhen I was in Switzerland, I was amazed how on-time the trains come and this method of pausing at 12 to synchronize the all the rail clocks was fascinating to me.
This watch is about owning this nice design and its simulation of the unique motion, which will probably be remembered a 100 years from now in history books…iThe Swiss Railways clock is an iconic design.
I already own lots of nice mechanical watches and I would buy this easily if I had the money to spend on another watch. To me, it’s a lot more interesting than yet another $500 mechanical watch with a generic movement that can be found in many other $500 watches.
Dear Massdrop, please bring back this drop with the white face version. There are several of us in the wings who missed the initial allotment of that model
This is a nice customized in-house quartz movement that is only done by Mondaine to simulate what the real clock is doing at the train station. You can see how it moves from this video
Having lived in Switzerland for several years, the white-faced version brings back a lot of nostalgia and I totally would have been in for one. The black faced version just isn't the iconic Swiss railway clock look for me, so I'm also wishing that more white faced models could be sourced.
They should Rename this to WTF drop!!! When greed and dollars takes over credibility and common sense when Mass dump is only looking to maximise their profit margin at every dump.
So shifting the merchandise at whatever means is paramount to make that almighty dollar a.k.a profit, even if it means to hype the stock it doesn't have with BS notifications and click baits so they get to move a product that vendor is having a though time to move for a price of course and all of this is in the name of “ you made it possible “ slogan ... where infact that couldn’t be far from the truth.
The irony is when Mass dump supposedly notified of the product availability In both colors it was An effort to bait as many as possible only to move as much excess black color stock that nobody wanted and the vendor couldn't move.
Now that's Brilliant Business Acumen plain and simple.
