Joined and just received them but they are several inches too long while being very tight in the waist and thighs. A very serious disappointment with the fit - not usable for me.
For sizing purposes, I am 6’4” and am typically between a 36-38 in waist. The XL fit well and I would not go down a size if I were ordering again. The waist is adjustable as well so that helps dial in waist fit.
I wear these skiing and like a little bit of room for a thermal layer. They run a little smaller in leg opening than a typical XL pant, so another reason reason I wouldn’t size down.
Joined, but $7.75 for shipping? Sheesh. It seems more like some Massdrop pricing manager decided to hide some of your cost in the shipping, to make the drop appear more palatable.
Not a deal-breaker, but anyone else find this practice annoying?
Are these pants designed to be shorter?
I typically wear a 32W, 36L, but I have seen 32W, 34L standard.
Are these pants offered in other sizes, elsewhere?
As a bigger guy finding outdoor pants that are water proof seems to be almost impossible. 42 inch waist and the largest I seem to find is 38 or 36 inches. Anyone have any recommendations ?
BirchbarkYeah, from what I've been reading people have been all over with the sizes. the S, M, L as opposed to traditional pant sizing has really thrown people off. Have you checked the OR website and looked at the XL? These have a cinch waist so if you did need longer but not necessarily "wider", you might be able to make it work.
BirchbarkSo your looking for 38 inch inseam pants on a discount site?
I assume your in high school and therefore don't have a lifetime of experience shopping for yourself.
Sizes outside the norm should absolutely expect to pay full price if they can find their size at all. Like I do...
Sigh, the low Canadian dollar makes purchases difficult unless there's a substantial deal/value with the dollar value. I'd luv to join you, but need to wait this one out.
Happily-MeIf you have a Sail close by i was there today and the regular price on these pants was 119$ cad. Thats 10$ cad less if you are including shipping in the cost of these pants
AlexjonThanks.
Unfortunately no Sail nearby, however I do ship to a 'Ship it Shop' in Massena or Ogdensburg NY relatively short drive and border crossing. I calculate the cost of tax as I claim as I cross back to Canada unless I stay the requisite 24hrs in the U.S. usually to hike. ; - ) Also, sometimes you can't get a particular model of a product here or it will take too long to ship so I will have it shipped within the U.S. as the shipping occasionally be included free.
