Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

I still have the original pair I got from a drop 2-3 years back or so (maybe a bit longer even) and mine have held up super well! They're literally in brand new shape still after this much time spread across maybe 400-500 hours give or take. I've almost exclusively paired them with Samsung Galaxy phones and iPhones over time and they're rather efficient iems and sound just a touch warmer than neutral with a nice tight and controlled mid to-low-bass and a pretty nice sub-bass presence. I believe I paid around $60 out the door and felt like I'd gotten the deal of a lifetime then..I'd JUMP on these for $40 and would pick up another set if I trusted the build quality less than I do but I've had literally zero issues with mine so far. That said...I take great care of my belongings to an almost obsessive level and I always wrap them up nicely and store them in a nice hard clamshell case when not in use, and am always gentle when handling them and listening with them so YMMV. I will say that looking at the build quality, tho they use nice materials IMO, doesn't necessarily seem the most resilient of materials were you to stuff these unwound in a pocket all day, or dropped frequetly..but as I've come to learn with most things in life..take care of them, and they'll take care of you!
