Awesome value for the amount of minis you get. The Battlepods are easy to assemble. The veritechs on the other hand......oh my. Especially the trying to figure out which arms. A nightmare.
Great values for all the minis you get. Wasn’t impressed with the ruleset I think it could have been made more interesting with an included playmat and less emphasis on measurements and more on dice rolls. Still a great value for collectors, fans, and mech RPGers
Pros: Game play is decent. Value of starter box is more than fair by number of minis. Minis have fairly wide range of posing options. Painting grants many hours of fun and the water slide stickers add amazing detail. A dedicated mini fan would be quite happy.
Cons: Assembly is very fiddly as there are many parts per mini. Painting is almost a must given the drab look of the unpainted mini. The water slide stickers are truly tiny. You _must_ be a dedicated mini fan, or willing to pay someone else to assemble and paint, to get full enjoyment. The game vendor lost the license and can no longer support or expand it. Any further expansion will likely be by fan created mini templates for 3D printing.
Notes: I had fun assembling my first two boxes, paid someone to paint, then applied the stickers myself. I'm very happy with the finished product but there was a LOT more time, effort, and money invested than the price of the box.
I am a classic tabletop RPGer...and enjoyed the old Robotech RPG. People online can piss & moan all they want about the molds used or the companies business practices...But I Don't Care!!
Bottomline....You cant beat this price for a big set of minis anywhere!
