I've played the game for several years now and find it extremely fun and engaging. Minis can be a challenge to build but their quality and detail are very good if you have the patience. Most of the criticism is for the Kickstarter and not the game itself.

Thomas, you always think people are out to get you over RRT and other gak, but take a moment to step back, what would you think if you saw someone using 2 different accounts on the same group?

Just so you know and a heads up the only company that has stock of any number to even match these orders is Miniature Market and they do not go thru a site like this, furthermore the listing says the product will be shipped from the vendor on Sept. 10th from the vendor, Palladium Books no longer has product stock.

Wasn't telling anyone how they should think, just trying to give a little perspective. with a dash of cold hard reality.

You all may want to read the criticism about this game before pledging. Just FYI, the Kickstarter backers, and retailer purchasers are pissed.

I build and paint on average maybe about a few hundred minis a year sometimes as many as a thousand or so, and I can honestly say these Robotech RPG Minis suck the big one. I would rather deal with 10 GW finecast models then one Batteloid from this game.

Editrod I can honestly say with no doubt I have probably built and painted more of these minis then you have (what can I say i'm a masochist) and can honestly say with no doubt, these minis suck the big one.

I can tell everyone here for certain that Palladium Books is completely done with Robotech. They will not see a dime from any sales made here or anywhere else online. By late June of 2018 they had liquidated all of their held stock to third parties and no longer hold the license. If you are worried about 'supporting' Palladium books, you'd have to go buy one of their books to do that. This is merely liquidation of way too much produced wave 1 miniatures. As for the allegations of theft. It just isn't true. They wasted the money on reworks of sculpt renders and purchasing way too much stock of wave 1. Mistakenly believing they would sell through it to fund wave 2. Terrible communication to boot as they tried to play for time to find some way of making this work out in the end. Only finally facing cold hard reality when they ran out of time and money to renew the license. I do not work for Palladium books, but I was there. I volunteered to help ship out wave 1 rewards, and ship 'settlement' packages to try and make sure everyone got as much stuff as they could. Of course this will not do anything to dissuade those who want to hurl venom, but it is the truth. For that matter I also enjoy the game, and have way too much of it currently sitting in my Garage. Oh, and I can assemble these just fine, _without_ tweezers. I swear some of you guys have never dealt with fiddly bits before. Get the antennae to stay on infinity miniatures a few times, then come back and tell me all about how you have to break out the tweezers. Or certain battletech minis for that matter. As for any accusations of 'white knighting' for Palladium. I am the first to call them out for the horrific mismanagement of the project and the complete and abject failure of leadership and planning. But I've seen the cars they drive. Nobody took the money and ran. It was misspent, but misspent on wave 1 games. There was no money to give refunds. I was out quite a bit myself and was deeply disappointed. But I got over it.

That is your opinion. Good luck proving it in a court of law. *shrugs* . Despite all your rage, you are still just a geek in a cage. Trapped in an uncaring system.

FoxFangEverything Ninja Division touches turns bad. If their name is associated with a project, like this one, it’s best to avoid it entirely. Its like Cipher Studios- you can smell the failure a mile away.

I did a little write up about one of the models in particular here: https://imgur.com/a/bp0fh31 I meant to get this done before the last drop finished, sorry about that :(
TL;DR I don't regret buying it, for the price it's hard to beat. But if you want these to look really nice you're looking at a lot of modeling work (scraping, sanding, putting, etc) above at least what I've experience with the little bit of time I've spent in GW side of the hobby.

Here is some details on what happened with this game. As a kickstart it raised 1.4 Million dollars. They had hired on Ninja Division to do the miniatures. If you got any of the pewter miniatures from a con tose are Ninja Division designs. For some reason PP didn't like the designs and fired ND. The miniatures you get in tis game 'APPEAR' to be vey badly scaled down versions of the Bandia (unlicensed) resin models from the 90s. There is no evidence of this but they do highly resemble them as do the assembly instructions. They are very hard to assemble and lack solid detail once painted.
PP Shipped what amounts to 1/3 of the product promised to backers as what was called Wave 1. Thats what is in the box. The other 2/3 and all the bonus content was never delivered. That is right about 1M in funds that was just outright stolen from backers. The kickstart agreement PP was under at the time stated that if the project failed they had to refund the money. This never happened, making it outright theft.
Last fall Harmony Gold tried to provide PP with assistance as they were also excited to see the game happen, and even tried to connect them with partners that could help them complete the game. In the end PP refused the help and HG gave them till the end of the ear to complete the project or lose their licensing. PP failed but told HG they were close and got an extension. They missed the Extension and HG revoked the license in either March or April and gave them 30 days to sell off all their stock. I think there was a small extension given to the stock sell-off as well.

Well let's see there is very little if any profit in these, since the cost of shipping would be cost prohibitive for someone out to make a profit, whoever is selling them thought they would make money but realized they were sitting on a red herring and trying to offload them, but on the other hand you could be right, there is just no telling.

Also at say $5-$10 a copy for a starter set there is no profit, after you take out cost of item, shipping and massdrop fees, there is nothing left. Kevin would have been better off just selling them when he did and be done with them.

TravisRWe shouldn't have to. Not a hard concept. If they're selling us a product, they should be able to get us a picture. And as you can see if you look at my other posts, I did my due diligence.

I know i will never support this company after what they did to thier backers. I personally know 3 people that got took for nearly 300 bucks and ended up with not much more than this base box after a almost 3 year wait and a endless stream of lies.

I didn't follow the drama and after reading a first couple of comments I couldn't read anymore. Robotech was my favourite cartoon franchise and it was my entre into Anime and Cartoons beyond the single episode plot-line. I also played a lot of Palladium as a kid - Robotech, TMNT, Heros Unlimited, RIFTS - and loved Kevin Long's art. It's too bad it ended like this. **EDIT: I went back to their website and forgot we had Palladium, Ninjas & Superheros, RIFTER and RECON as well. Wow, we had a lot of their stuff.

Yeah. I bought a kit earlier, without any research... Then I saw the discussion. I'm not sure when I'll ever put the kit together though. I did show Robotech to my kids (10 and 8 at the time). The consensus was that it was good except for that middle part (southern cross)
