I haven't had much time to wear these and break them in (it suddenly got too warm), BUT I never knew how much I needed shearling lined boots in my life. My toes were super warm for the few times I got to wear them. Only time will tell how long these last when next winter comes.
I bought these in my proper shoe size, though I read to go half a size larger. I made the right choice in not going the larger route.
TSA precheck disaster. The shoes are very comfortable and seem rugged. However for some reason they always alarm the metal detectors. This is a bummer with TSA pre. Maybe they have steel toes?
Also I thought that since the shoes are fairly rugged I could just travel anywhere with them but the traction on wet surfaces seems limited. I haven't slipped but it feels a little weird whenever I'm on wet & sloped pavements.
Otherwise I think they are extremely comfortable and you almost forget that you're wearing boots.
Cheap boot with a legit storm welt. Quality can do better in comparison with the Rider Boot Anders, another storm welt boot with shearling within (cost= $108 for PARC vs $154 for Rider, both from Massdrop with shipping). Shearling of the Rider boot is better trimmed, finer and more densely packed while being softer, less "overgrown" and wiry in texture. No issues in fit and comfort even before breaking in though. The pics say the rest (the "Gap" seen in the welt is a put-off; it's barely noticeable in the Rider boot)
PS: Sorry, I'm not sure what it is, but technical issues are preventing me from uploading the pics. Would have given it 3.5 stars if half selections were possible (price considered)
Update September 2022: Still holding out really well with the occasional conditioning. I've tried to find other similar products at a comparable price but found it nigh impossible. In terms of value, an absolute 5 stars. Grown to love them
