I got this on the previous drop. Nice, stove, but sounds like a jet engine. Any chance of dropping the Primus Silencer replacement head? Pretty please?

DownEasterDitto!
DownEasterI wonder, why not simmer it or turn down the flame smaller so the sound will not be loud. I've done this with my Omnilite using white gas as fuel.

About the weight savings vs Omnifuel II that I have, the only difference is the stove itself being about 110 grams lighter, all the accessories, bottle, pump, bag etc. are the same between the two, am I right?

good recommendation on the kovea adapter, hadnt occurred to me that that was an option. i agree with all you said, that roaring sound is awesome. it calls you to warm your hands while boiling water on chilly damp evenings.

I just checked on the Primus Omnilite Ti drop I wanted to join and I don’t see the different fuel nipples mounted on the support leg - is this drop the older version that didn’t have that option OR are the pictures just of the old version but the new version is the one actually shipping...if anyone knows, please let me know 🤨

That picture is on the PRIMUS website. Thats a picture of the OmniFuel Stove not the OmniLite Ti. If you go to Primus's website you will see that Massdrop is using the same pictures. The OmniLite Ti does not have that feature, only the OmniFuel.

The above picture is of the OmniFuel II, not the OmniLite Ti. For reference, this is the OmniLite Ti: https://primus.us/products/omnilite-ti-incl-fuel-bottle-and-super-pouch-1?variant=17262667205 . And this is the OmniFuel II: https://primus.us/products/omnifuel-stove?variant=17262642437 The OmniFuel II is the model with threaded holes on one of the foldout legs for storing alternate fuel nipples; neither the original OmniFuel nor the OmniLite Ti have on-stove nipple storage.

As a note for future buyers.. I just got mine today and its working great!! (tested gas and petrol) but there are a few things I am quite unhappy about....
1)The tool for maintenance for example is built really bad, I cant even change the nozzle/jets because the "hex key" (sorry I dont know the proper name of the tool, english is not my native language) wont fit the nozzle which is really inconvenient in my opinion, because then you cant use it as a multifuel stove without carrying another extra tool when you are traveling... 2) The fuel bottle is squeaking and you can feel a resistance (not a good one) when putting the pump on the bottle
Maybe i got a monday product with these 2 problems but I just wanted to inform potentional buyers.

And just as a question is it normal that the burner is not in the middle, I mean it wont have a effect on the usage but would be interesting to know.
PromiAlthough it's not normal, but it is common. You can realign the burner.

Promithe wrench for the fuel jets is a super tight fit. thats a true shame, that they do not provide the correct fit. I found though that it can, work on there just enough to get the job done, by pushing some force into it. The jets are brass, a soft metal and will have a little give, and the wrench is tubular thin steel, also with some possible give to it. In time with frequent changes i suspect the jets and wrench would wear themselves into a better fit. But its not a frequent task, at least for me. Ive switched from white gas to iso pro a couple times, and though tight, I have been able to make the wrench grab just enough. I agree its frustrating!

Anybody else having the issue that they cant order both the stovepaw and the service kit? Why are they mutually exclusive? I definitely want the service kit and I know I probably want the stovepaw....annoying.

chrisisinclairNot making a big deal about this, but since you asked; ordered the stove with the service kit. Would have also liked to have been able to order the snowpaw with it.

Any chance of getting the Optimus Polaris Optifuel stove anytime soon? Takes all the same fuels, without ever having to change a jet...

GreatdaneI really want to see a head to head review of the two. I'm still holding out for the Optimus Polaris Optifuel as well, for pretty much the same reason...

I have an alternate variant so this may not be true for this one but I believe the burner to be the same. Mine runs like a beast on both the primus gas canisters and white gas with the pump bottle. The one "issue" is that it has lower heat output when running on kerosene. This may effect your fuel choices (although kerosene has other issues about cold as well). I do recommend it though. The design and quality are truly commendable.

I had the kerosene/diesel jet. It takes a bit more to preheat and also goes out more easily, simmering is a challenge, full throttle has no downside (if you preheat enough). The plugging has happened to me but is a minor issue as it was easily cleared with the cleaning pin. My guess is that the method of heating the fuel isn't quite enough to make the kerosene burn really well. It's more aimed towards the white gas in it's design from my understanding.

By efficiency the propane mixture is the best fuel for mine (incredible heat at max and stays burning nearly all the way down to off); White gas above kerosene as it doesn't soot, can burn with low power output, and produces less toxic gases (relevant if using indoors); Kerosene last but with the advantages that it's cheaper as well as easier to find, doesn't wear down one's seals (white gas dries out rubber, bring spare o-rings if using gas), and isn't flammable on it's own (no unexpected fires or explosions).
When I were picking fuel I first decided for white gas, then I found several gallons of kerosene for free and used that.
Added details about my burner: It's a multifuel from last spring combined with a trangia mess kit. Has a 0.28 mm nostle for kerosene and 0.32 mm for gas and propane. (no more than those two)
As a detail I suspect my kerosene to be less than optimal as it really is lamp oil rather than kerosene.

I've owned the non-titanium stove for a while so I thought I'd leave my thoughts (take them as they are, as it's not the same product.) I love this stove. I've moved towards white gas for a few reasons, even though you won't find many thru-hikers with it. It's more environmentally friendly and it's easier to find in less hiker-friendly areas. This stove competes with my friends boiling water in jetboils and lets me control the temperature perfectly, simmering rice dishes and "baking" cobblers. The Primus stove has held up incredibly well over >50 days use and can be cleaned, repaired and rebuilt completely which I appreciate. The OmniLite can also be used with all sorts of trash fuel as long as you're willing to clean and replace fittings as they get eaten by gasoline. The downside, my stove weighs tons compared to proper ultralight stoves, and this titanium version, while it does whittle the weight down, still weighs more. All said, this is one of three stoves I own. I also have a Kovea titanium stove and an alcohol stove. If I were going on trail for more than a few nights and wanted to be sure I'd cook ok, I would bring my Primus OmniLite. It's a truck and it works every time. And when it doesn't I can tear the stove down, clean it and rebuild it.

semkaInterested to see a link to the newer version - from what I can tell this is the same as the current European version, (and a whole lot cheaper!), but over there you can buy the silencer for 59.95 euros as an added extra. It only seems to work when using gas though.
