After a few weeks, I can say I'm very impressed with the quality and expect it to last a very long time.
Should have updated, with this response from Massdrop:
"this is a common topic for the Rickshaw bags and is covered in more detail on their FAQ found here: http://www.rickshawbags.com/faqs#a21
The short version is this: We have a “best of both worlds” approach: we make the complex, labor intensive subassemblies in China, and perform final assembly and customization in San Francisco. This strategy affords us certain operational advantages, and results in the best value for our customers. "

Got mine today and its nice - an amazing looking bag. But like cartrixx, no cross strap.
Is this made in China? On the Rickshaw site, they say "Built-to-order in SF" but my bag has a "Made in China" tag sewn in. Massdrop shipped with USA as the country of origin, so I didn't get hit with duties (just GST) but seems to be some confusion as to where these are actually from and if its the same product sold by Massdrop. Can you clarify?

jeffmikI would think that the "Made in China" tag means the actual material was made in China. but the bag was assembled or "Built-to-order" in SF.

I just checked tracking for this order and it looks like it will arrive at our warehouse on Wednesday. I will let you know when tracking goes live in my next update.

Hey Guys,
I contacted the vendor for you all and received an update today. These are currently on their way to our warehouse and scheduled to arrive on 6/25 save for any shipping issues that may arise en route. I will let you guys know a couple days ahead of the scheduled arrival at the warehouse if we are still on track.
Expect an update from us on 6/23 or sooner if something comes up.

Hey everyone, We’ve just submitted our order for the Commuter Laptop Bags with Rickshaw. Now that the order has been placed, Rickshaw will prepare it for shipment. In the meantime, we will also be getting our warehouse ready to handle the reshipment of the product to everyone as soon as it arrives.
