Use it in the field, on the commute, or store it in the shed as a bug out bag: The Rothco Medium Transport Pack has space for all your everyday needs, as well as those you hope to never have to use. From what i know the falcon II isn't very comfortable either, the 1050-Denier nylon makes for an extremely firm silhouette. I personally only buy the most durable bags but in the end its just a bag, if this will make your trips better without breaking your wallet, i would say yeah go for it.Saving money and building your net worth is smarter than buying a 400$ bag just because its "going to last and its made from unicorn bum fluff" regardless of what anybody will tell you, i promise.
MadokaThe same goes for Red Rock and a whole bunch of others. This does look somewhat better than some other clones I've seen (or bought), but the Maxpedition is the original. None of them, including the Maxpedition, are any good for carrying long distances IMHO. Throwing in and out of a car, sure. For the wilderness you want something more stable, with a wider profile and better straps - again, IMHO.
I'm not saying Rothco makes high quality merchandise, but a link to an anonymous anti-semitic rant is not strong supporting evidence that their bags are poor quality.

Compared to free 2 day with Prime and typical 3-4 day delivery without Prime. A full month's difference. For 75 cents.
WickedWombatKnockoff of what? Rothco isn't a manufacturer. They are a US distributor that gets their name put on cheap unbranded Chinese gear. The $25 bag on Amazon is identical to this one. I own half a dozen, mix of both.
ALL these bags are a knockoff of the original Maxpedition design. If you want the real deal, buy the Maxpedition Falcon II.
I really wish MD would start showing pictures of people standing with gear. I bought a bag like this one (not a rothco, and from a different site) and as a 6'1" guy on the slightly heavier side, it feels like a bag made for an infant.
I love the bag, and the tons of pockets and crazy amount of space
But it's just
Tiny
AdamantinepiggyI agree, there are tons of these copy cat bags out there for the same price. If you want quality from what Ive seen in person Voodoo Tactical makes the best 3 day pack. Strong, water proof zippers and water resistant material. Probably going to spend about $100-$120 online. My local surplus store sells it for $89. My no name pack is ripping inside , had it for awhile though. Depends on your usage.
cloakI was going to chime in with the exact same comment. I picked mine up on eBay actually for $20.
I have no idea where they got this $63 MSRP from.
Also I should mention the bag is total crap. started falling apart from the inside out.
I bought one of these directly from China for $15.00. But it stank of petrol, which is the typical "Chinese" smell of nylon fabric and toys. It made the bag unusable for me.
I purchased another on Amazon for $25.00, and it still smelled too strongly of petrol to keep.
EatingPieThat is not unusual for actual military surplus gear. It kind of comes with the territory.
In the case of these bags which are made in China or India (most Rothco I see is made in India). I think it's just proximity to diesel generators or boat engines.
...speaking of amazon...I enjoyed reading many of the ONE star reviews for this deceptively photographed 'tiny tot' size bag size, mislabeled for inaccurate sizing and poor quality. Love those candid comments. With that, massdrop needs to google some reviews prior to offering something like this. I'll pass. And initially, I almost bit at it. Still appreciate massdrop for what I have bought though.
