Saphir's here!
I'm super stoked to be finally offering a selection of Saphir products to Massdrop! I've been using Saphir for several years now and they really are exceptional products. To give you all maximum flexibility, I've set this drop up so that you can pick between the most popular colors of cream polishes or sub in some Renovateur if you'd like (that stuff is magic). If you want more than 2, you can click 'add another selection' after clicking 'join now' to select another 2-pack.
Questions? Ask away!
1. Regarding other saphir products - things like wax polishes, cordovan products, etc. are totally feasible. If there'e something in particular you want, start a poll!
2. Regarding what color to pick - it doesn't need to be a perfect match, in my opinion. A slightly lighter color polish will keep the shoes about the same, a similar or darker color may deepen/darken the color slightly over time. Neutral will slightly darken shoes over time. For AE merlot, I would go with mahogany, for AE chili I would go with cognac or light brown. If you're looking for burgundy, I'd suggest mahogany, as it's also red but with less purple undertones.
3. Differences between the creams and Reno - they serve fundamentally different purposes, although both will keep your shoes heathy. Reno is a deep cleaner and conditioner, and truly is like magic. The cream will raise a slight shine, but is more intended to restore pigment to the shoes (so yes, ideally you would have one cream for each color of shoe).
My normal calf shoe care regimen looks like this:
1. Brush off shoe to remove dirt
2. Condition with Renovateur, let sit, brush
3. Apply cream polish, let sit, brush
4. Optional - add wax polish for high shine, buff
Sometimes it's fancier than that, but this is generally what I do.

IanAndersonIt'd actually be awesome if there could be a drop with more products, and more colours to choose from. Let's say ten Pate de Luxe colours, ten Pommadier colours, and Reno. Then people can choose however many they want, with a minimum set to two or three?
I'm not sure what to put in the poll if I want to see something like this. This drop I'm buying more Pommadier products but I don't own any Pate de Luxe yet and I'd love to.
A decent deal, but nothing too spectacular. Especially when you add the $7.75 shipping cost-- you can purchase these on Amazon for around $20-22 each, and if you're a prime member, shipping is free.
bigbhattShoe polish is not a "dye", it doesnt go on like paint and cover up what's underneath. It's semi-transparent so matching a color exactly is not essential . It's just important to get close.
If you are dead set in not altering your color at all. Go with the lighter of the two colors you are considering. You can also mix the neutral cream with a darker color to get an exact match.
That said, I'd go with Cognac for those shoes. But I'm partial, I like the subtle reddish hue in cognac over medium brown. It makes for a more attractive color in my opinion. That being said, medium brown would be the closest match
AthisalThis is correct. Although, the creams have a good amount of pigment. I used medium brown to darken a pair of walnut AE's I had. I finished the toes off with a combo of 3 layers of light brown wax then a few layers of medium brown wax.

Anyone familiar with Allen Edmond strands, these are in walnut. So a fair amount of darkening. Typically your creams are used to help re-pigment areas of the shoe that have been worn down and faded and also to provide nourishment. You can almost just make me out in the reflection. I will probably add another few layers of the medium wax then a neutral layer for a real good mirror finish.
I bought this drop in the past (a year ago in Jan.), 2 Saphir Black and Neutral Cream Polish for $33.49 including shipping. Came packaged very well with multiple layers of bubble wrap inside. This is no longer an attractive deal as the shipping to the same area is $7.75 making the price $37.74 ($29.99 + 7.75) at the lowest drop price. The wait and the "saving" does not seem as attractive as before unfortunately.
Uh, I was going to join this drop, but $8 shipping kills all the savings... I'll just wait until I need more and buy it off of amazon with free shipping.
mosivyTo add to what Ian said, natural is also good if you don't want to risk changing the color/shade of shoes that you like just the way they are. Sort of like adding a little shine and protection while keeping the "factory finish". Good examples would be if you want to keep patina, burnishing, or a color that is hard to match.
Barring those examples though, I agree with Ian. I use pigmented cream/polish on most of my shoes.
