Make a statement on your wrist with this Seiko Prospex Kinetic diver’s watch. Built like a tank, this 42-millimeter timepiece has everything you’d want in a diver: chunky hands, striking hour markers, bright lume, and a prominently notched bezel. Though the dial is filled with life, it’s not overcrowded. Behind the scenes, there’s a Seiko 5M82 kinetic movement (more on that below). Surrounded by stainless steel and a sheet of Hardlex crystal, the movement is protected from the elements. And, like any good diver, it’s water resistant to a solid 200 meters.
Part of Seiko’s Prospex line, this diver is equipped with kinetic movement. Released by Seiko in the late 1980s, kinetic movements combine the accuracy of quartz with the winding mechanism of an automatic watch. A fully charged kinetic watch will store up to 6 months of power. To determine the power level, hit the button at the 2 o’clock position—if it skips ahead 30 seconds, it’s fully charged; 15 seconds, it has 3 months of power; and so on.
