@IanEDC you can see the photos here on how its made. You can ask other suppliers/makers there is no way to produce using this process and selling at our price.. Honestly we are breaking even selling on Massdrop. We just hope as a small company, we can get our brand name out there with the community here :)

I would never pay so little for a spinner. Tell me when it costs almost $200 for no real reason, then we'll talk.

Astrodinosaurdude it's not "no real reason", those bearings are assembled atom-by-atom by magical pixies, and you can really tell when the spin is on average 0.1% longer than you'd ever get with ceramics and with ~1nm less wobble, which if you knew anything about spinning is a *big improvement* but yeah go ahead and use your roller-skate bearings and convince yourself it's a good spin.

I just got mine, i like it, but one thing is kinda bugging me, the screw part between the caps seems like it's a little too long, because the bearings are kind of wobbling around and i feel a slight 'buzz' in certain orientations.
edit: it's also kinda chipped on one end (see picture)

JellepsThe cap are meant to be longer other wise the spin time will decrease significantly since the dual bearing are free standing to retain them.
Pac man spinner is a bar design, the wobble is normal if you compare with other bar design spinners that are as small and as thin as this. 3 arms design like this https://smrtgadget.com/collections/frontpage/products/prometheus-brass-spinner-r188 has zero wobble. It's just the natural of centripetal force. We have tested repeatedly before launching this product line, this current setup is the best with the restraint of keeping it small and long lasting spin time.
We are confident for anyone to compare any bottle opener bar design with our current width and size in terms of spin time and ergonomics. Others have sharp edges of does not produce from a single billet of 304 stainless (that is foodgrade)
although 304 stainless steel is strong, dropping them can dent the metal.

If anyone is on the fence about these I bought 2 last drop and 2 this drop. They are very well built and for the price you can't go wrong. It has become one of my favourit spinners. Plus as mentioned before they are numbered. I may get a couple more as presents now that I think about it. Thanks MD & SMRT please do more drops.

JohnnyBeansAppreciate your words of encouragement, it took us really long to work with CNC shops, industrial designers all the way back in 2016 to start the spinner projects. Prometheus and Pacman are two product lines we produce in limited quantity thus they are serialized.

This is a great little spinner, but I managed to get a little beer on mine which rusted out the bearings. I know I can buy replacement bearings, but I wish the company had the foresight to use appropriate materials for something they know is meant to open containers of liquid. Just giving my two cents, I would probably still buy this again though.

IanEDCWe did consider using full ceramic bearing but as you know that will sky rocket the cost for the item. We allocate most of the budget on 304 stainless steel billet, CNC machine time, hand polish. We kept the sides to show case the whole item is cut our from one single billet

IanEDCI agree with your post and the reply didn’t really answer your question. There should’ve been an adjustment somewhere to deal with rustable bearings or caution to clean and oil more often?
