I joined the 301DA drop a few weeks back and am considering joining the HD 6xx drop going on right now. Can anyone comment on that pairing? I do not expect that amp/dac to be perfection for any cans, just a solid step up from my PortaPros and ATH-M50x's.

bigSugarEh, this is meant more for passive desktop speakers than headphones. Someone posted it's a 100 +100 mW (100 per channel but it's a single ended out) amp so compare that to your current DAC/amp solution (being a desktop solution the DAC might be a bit better but DAC doesn't scale much for headphones) and see. 6xx scales well with different levels of power, but it might not get loud enough for tastes if you like ear bleeding levels of sound.
