TFZ has gained a following on Head-Fi and other forums for its high-value offerings, and the King IEMs are no exception. Featuring housings similar to the company’s popular Series 5, this model comes equipped with a new 12-millimeter graphene driver rated at 12 ohms and 110 dB: ideal for driving with your phone Read More
ZachLI am very interested in this feedback as well. Just bought the Exclusive 5's and love them. Curious to see the sound difference and if it's worth buying them.
Alright I'm stuck... Since buying the TFZ 1 I've been reading reviews about the TFZ series 5s. What I've heard is the series 5 is better than Shure 215's.
Can anyone explain why the TFZ King would be a better choice than the series 5s?
Interesting. Would you mind share more detail on what chi fi alternatives to SE215 that offer better sound and removable cables? I'm new to this chi fi thing, heard this term alot on discussion threads though.
One of the two earpieces stopped working 2-3 weeks after I received them (a week late because I was on vacation). E-mailed TFZ support, got zero response. So e-mailed Massdrop support, was told they do nothing after 30 days, and they suggested I contact TFZ. My first and last purchase on MassDrop -- which I'm inclined to tell people is a scam to pass off defective merchandise.
My review of the King to help anyone that's interested in these. Takeaway should be that they are treble/mid-range focused with excellent detail and clarity, and a good sound stage. My review was of the pre-release version which has fixed cables. Current versions have a .75mm 2-pin removable cable, not shown in the pics here on Massdrop for whatever reason.

Unfortunately yes. If you still wanted to get something from the TFZ Exclusive lineup, maybe research the 3. I found it to be the least bright and easiest on the ears. Plus, it's wayyyyy cheaper and is almost on par on a technical level. For the price it's darn good.
They sound great but only a week later the cap fell off. Wire connecting plug wasn't soldered and now I only have one good monitor. Expected more for 80 dollars, TFZ is impossible to contact.
12 ohms. That's pretty low impedance. If the impedance didn't vary with frequency like most IEMs, it should be fine.
If not, it won't sound good with most smartphones since their output impedance is high when compared with 12 ohms
MoesI was meaning to say Dynamic Driver actually, apologies for the unclear message
Around this budget, I doubt any dual driver (BA setup) would be a worthwhile listen. But then again, I don't exactly know what these Chi-Fi manufacturers can do with so little
I have almost 50 pairs earphones and the Exclusive King is one of the best. It competed many highend ones as Sony exk, JVC fx850, fw01, Noble Kaiser Encore and beats them in some ways (details, soundstage, smoothnes, depth, dynamics ...).
Just notic that the shipping date is one month later, and you probably will wait TWO month to receive it... ha ha!
DarkReaperRisingim thinking no. In the close-ups of the inside of the iem I do not see any pins and it appears the white mold goes in to the plastic, as in embedded.
