Does the vintage model have RGB?
I've had two of these keyboards. One is perfect- Vintage with Cherry MX Brown. I've had it for about a year and a half. No chatter whatsoever. Not even once. It's great. The other was a Red Dolch Matias Quiet. It was unusable. You would hit the S key, and like 4 s's would register. Had to send it back. Based on my tiny sample sized, I'd feel more comfortable going with a Cherry MX board than the others. But that's just me.
kinda pricey for only 3/4th of a keyboard
Seems a bit pricey considering features. I've seen some decent knock offs with similar features, the only difference is that these look like higher quality keycaps than usually come with a board like this. Which would only really appeal to me if I wasn't overstocked on keycap sets (and had access to more sets still.)
Do we get to choose switches ?
Mine has Matias quiet click. Unusable because of the chatter, concentrated on a few keys but present on most of them. Plus other mentioned annoyances re cable, keycaps, etc. Major disappointment.
I own one of these with box navy switches. It has incredibly rattly stabalizers, mediocre keycaps, and a cable that doesn't stay in it's channel. It's the least favorite board I own.
https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=3582 same thing, same price, doesnt take 2 months to ship
A keyboard that has so many keycap and switch options but forgets a simple thing: supporting the rest of the world (ISO) and not a small set of countries.
I have the Matias Quiet Click version and one of my keys has stopped working completely, does anyone know if it's possible to fix this? I'm wary of using solder.
Are these retooled Matias?
i really can't make up my mind between picking 3 different switches - matias quiet click - matias clicky - fukka white can someone help me out picking switches for me i've been looking at YT vids for sound. Does know the tactility difference on each of them??
I'm reading a lot of posts about key chatter on this keyboard and I'm scared to commit. Any news on improvements in QC? Looks like a great board but it's a shame it's having issues.

I have the v60 and the stabilisers are quieter than my pok3r. Actually the pok3r is pretty bad on that front.

It does chatter. Mine chattered on 5 keys as far as I could notice. It's caused by excess lube and it's quite easy to fix in my experience. Matias quiet switches are so much better than mx style switches. I think it's worth it if they ship it with decent keycaps.
Does anyone know for sure if this is simply a rebranded Filco board? It looks almost identical with those two LEDS above arrow cluster. Something tells me that they are sharing a PCB, but a confirmation would be nice.
ALPOAL
V80 and Filco board both produced at the same assembly factory in Taiwan. So some structure will be similar.
I'd be all over this if there was a DSA option with the Matias switches. Rare I know but I'm a picky bastard.
knicks707
it is difficult. Matias switch is ALPS type and DSA is MX type. Difficult to make new tooling for ALPS keycap because its' demand is much smaller than MX.

SP actually ran DSA Granite and DSA lightcycle in ALPS mount for sure, I think they had others but those two were big and on my list of sets to acquire for my ALPS mount boards. They also have ALPS blanks available on their site right now in DSA profile. Like you said, demand isn't high enough to keep anything in stock with legends though, so it's no surprise KBP isn't offering those caps on their boards.
Like other mentions below. Don't buy this unless you want some keyboard chatter. I didn't experience mine until after the 30 days MassDrop warranty had ended leaving me with a keyboard that is mostly nice to type on asides from consistently having to spell check myself. Also had the Matias Quiet pro switches
Edit: This was typed on the V80 TKL that I received from Massdrop.
Just received mine a week or two ago. Got mine with Matias quiet click switches, no backlighting and the front printed retro styled keycaps. This keyyyboard is fantastic except for a few glaring problems. As you can probablyy already see, there is some keyy chatter. I'm leaving in those Y's to demonstrate how annoying it is to deal with.
The board itself is a dream to tyype on. Veryy quiet, around the same volume as rubber dome that myyy office mate uses. The key feel has some excellent tactility and a springy-ness that makes tyyping veryyy enjoyable. I got the front printed retro styled keycaps and they're alright. Nothing special. The Dye-sub is not super crisp, and there are minor changes in the bold-ness of different prints. Hard to notice unless you're reallyy paying attention however. Functionality is pretty much as described. Media keys are nice and the build quality is solid. The cable is a braided one, and is actually quite smooth compared to some other cables I've used. All in all, pretty solid keyboard.
Except for the key chatter. Holy shit is it annoying. The Yy key is misbehaving pretty seriously, as is the backspace, sometimes registering up to five. This is right out of the box. The chatter does not seem to be getting any better with daily use, onlyy more keys seem to be getting involved. A quick browse through some other reports indicate that this is not an un-common problem. Myy recommendation: get the keyboard if it suites yyour needs, but stayy the hell awayy from the quiet click switches. This is really a shame too because they are extremelyy tactile, veryyyy quiet and generally exceptional to tyype on, but the key chatter makes it a non-starter in my book. If you're handy there are some guides on how to fix them (seems to be a little excess grease in a lot of cases - check out Chyyros' alps cleaning/resto vid on youtube) but others have noted that this exercise can turn into yyeyarly maintenance. Not worth it IMO.
I am returning this keyboard for a refund from Massdrop. No warranty from KBParadise is lame.

What does the "Charcoal Blue Force" keycap set look like? And is it really Alps mount as the description suggests?

Thank you that's perfect! So it's like Red Dolch but with baby blue instead of grey.
What's the warranty like for this keyboard? I bought one through massdrop during the most recent drop and the spacebar stopped working for me all of a sudden. Is there anyone who can help me with this situation? This product seems dubious to me..

SAD! Help this dude out
I love this form factor. It's just like the IBM Space-Saver II which I adore. If it only had a TrackPoint I would die for this keyboard.
Disclaimer: didn't buy mine from here.
A little bit over one year ago got a V80 with MX Clear switches. In the beginning it was all fine and well but within a month or so I noticed that some characters were doubled. During the summer of last year the number of switches that were chattering increased. When I contacted them they have offered a 1.06 firmware that did a little bit of improvement at first but the it started to get worse and worse. They also released a 1.07 firmware that does absolutely nothing to fix this issue.
Basically half if not more of the switches have chatter and the Switch Hitter screen turns into a red mess in a short time. Absolutely unusable at this point as you need to constantly use Backspace/Del to remove the duplicates.
Funny thing: a guy with MX Browns on his V80 asks them about the chatter on Facebook. KBParadise first gives him the standard answer: install the new firmware. Then they ask him to remove the affected switch. However just like in my case they don't understand that it's not a single switch with issues, but a lot of them!

I have two more keyboards with MX Clears and they have no such issues.
Since the repeated keystrokes are at 6-7ms intervals I assume they could actually release a firmware with greater debounce time, let's say 10 ms. Might not be ideal for gaming but at least the KB could actually be useful for it's intended purpose: to enter text.
This keyboard has been a really mixed bag for me. I absolutely love the feel of the Matias quiet click switches but the board has a number of functional issues with my Mac.
1. It doesn't work from the login screen after waking from sleep. I have to connect another keyboard to unlock the machine (or use my Apple Watch). This only occurs when waking from sleep, not unlocking at a the screen saver.
2. Key ghosting. I intermittently get 3 characters for a single key press. The f and t keys seem to suffer from this more than others.
3. The right hand side super key does not work correctly as the command key.
It's a bummer because I like these keys a lot better than the browns and clears I have in my code keyboards.
It should be noted that the switches are inverted. This means that this keyboard is not recommended if you want to install low profile keycaps such as GMK.
Wish I'd waited and ordered this rather than my 60% Alps.

Oh okay
They're going to burn you at the stake here. :)
I have this keyboard in blues. The keycaps are pure trash. Do NOT buy unless you plan to replace them.
Dontpokethebear3893
definitely seconding this - the board has a nice heft to it but the caps are so thin they actually <i>sound</i> bad
the ducky EASILY is the better buy. Just make sure the model you buy has PBT keycaps
I got this with Matias Quiet Tactile keys, and the "SS" key keeps double registering. Like it did right there when I tried to just type "S". Any advice on how to remedy this?

I had this on mine, but in my case it might have been caused by replacing the quiet-click springs with click springs. I solved my problem by using a toothpick to gently pull the moving bit of the contact leaf away from the base, so as to create more space and spring in the spring. I also cleaned it thoroughly. I can sketch it out if you like.

Same issue here with the f and t keys. I got the board with the Matias quiet switches.
Any firmware updates to this?
I've been using this keyboard for about 2 years now and I love it. I bit the bullet and spent the extra money on the MX Clears and I have to admit I still think about how much I love them to this day. The board itself is super dense and just feels high quality with virtually no flex. My only real issue with this keyboard is that the flip out feet are not rubberized so if you prop your keyboard up like i do the keyboard will slide around unless you DIY some rubber onto the feet or buy an extended mouse pad like i did. Other than that the keyboard is great and I would highly recommend it.

that's weird mine has rubber on the feet

You lucky SOB lol, mine was probably an older revision I assume.
I think Massdrop should so a collaboration with I-rocks to create a keyboard or even a special kit with the i-rocks mechanical switches! I did order the V80 with Tao-Hao switches, but the thing about alps switches it that they don't have as many options to choose from for keycaps and certainly even less if you want PBT. Currently typing on the i-rocks blue switches and they feel great! although they are a bit on the light side. Plus they do have a mx compatible mount on them so they can use most cherry compatible keycaps. The switches are from what I know simply a alps design with cherry compatible stems.
