I have lost 85% feeling in my feet after spinal surgery and I walk like a... well, like a "walker". These Furoshiki allow me to drive without apprehension, and just simple walking has returned to a fairly doable thing. I bought 1, wore hem for two weeks, then went back for 4 more for me and two for my wife, now an aged ballerina with damaged footsies. She's liking it. We showed them to my old buddy Mickey who usually wears Lama cowboy boots, and he jumped on two pair. The three of us are living in them. Even at $49 I'm good, but they really should be less and likely will be.
We we have found no issue with durability as have some others. They are Vibram bottoms, and some think that's a mark of durability, ok, if you say so, but they have not worn in any way. After some months of daily use, I'm seeing only very minor and expected pilling of the nylon fabric, no big thing. I really had expected the Velcro to wear out, but it shows no signs of that. Good durability from my view. Remember, they are not leather combat boots!
Furoshiki has made long plane flights a whole lot easier on my embattled pods. After a lot if use, I gave them a gentle wash and they look as good as Day 1. I got them in my size, and the only available fabric color is what you might call garish. For that reason, people do notice them and are seemingly interested in the concept if I show them what I'm wearing.
i wear a US size 11 and am pleased with XL. The former ballerina wife wears a size 6 and was good with a XSM.
Besides being easy to wear around the house, I enjoy driving my 370z, going to an indoor shooting range, grocery shopping...any hard surface. Last week, I visited Roatan Honduras and used them well on hard flat sand and walking through the shallows before taking them off, stuffing them in my pockets, putting on my fins to go SCUBA shore diving, then reversing the process when I finished my dive. Likely they are ill advised for snake country or walking through an automotive junk yard, but at my doddering advanced age, I've learned that one is well advised to dress appropriately for condition, unlike some boneheaded complainers.
In short, this Furoshiki is the Foroshiznitz. (Sorry)

Earl_E_DopterI have nueropathy in both feet. Walking barefoot is very uncomfortable. Liked your review. Is there any padding at all in the shoe?

I Love them! I have to say though they fit a very specific niche I was looking for. I love futuristic fashion, I love barefoot shoes and I love boots with high shaft. The latter not being as common place for men's boots as for women's. My feet are a 43 - 44 EU. Which puts me right between the L and XL size of those boots. But since so many people commented they were too tight for them and I have quite muscular legs due to cycling a lot. I took the XL and I regret nothing! They are a tiny bit loose if I wear them with normal socks and thin Pants underneath, but therefore also still fit very well with thick Socks and very thick pants. Which is a thing no other boot can pull off. I took the neoprene version because I liked the look of them better and to me they have a very futuristic vibe. The edge of the velcro does even add to that look. They are very comfy and super lightweight. I couldn't test them in freezing temperatures but I'd guess I would need to wear very thick socks with them to stay warm. I was also surprised by how well they keep water out. I was cycling through heavy rain and deep puddles that splashed right onto the boots and no water leaked inside. Wearing them for very long can give you sweaty feet though.

The shoes are comfortable enough for simple use. I only wear them for Tai Chi, and never go out on the street with them. They require a bit more balance than standard shoes, and getting used to. But I enjoy them.

I bought the Vibram Furoshiki wrap shoes. I only take them off to go to bed! I love them & would love to see them here again. Count me in for more of these shoes.

I'm sure these shoes have a practical application for something, they are an abysmal failure as kayak/camp shoes. I bought these initially for backpacking. They seemed like the ideal shoes for fording steams and rivers that crisscross the trails of the Ouachita and Ozark national forests and for chilling in camp at the end of the day. The main problems are the soles are so thin you feel every jagged pebble and they take way too long to dry out. Failing that application, I tried using them as kayak shoes and as others have stated, the Velcro comes unfastened off the heel easily, especially when getting in and out of my boat. If the design was tweaked a little, change the material to something that's a bit more quick drying, change the fastening system to one that uses 1' nylon webbing with Velcro sewn on the ends as straps that could be laced through a plastic loop where the current Velcro attachment point is on the heel, and move that Velcro attachment point to the top of the shoe they could be cinched tight and wouldn't come unfastened so easily. Finally make the soles a little thicker or add some kind of insole so you aren't in agony walking on stones and pebbles and you'd have the perfect shoe for the application I was hoping these would work for.

These are urban coffee shop boots ( except probably too hot indoors). Not really practical for snowplowing a long driveway ( not waterproof or grippy enough). I had wanted the mid length and should have stopped when not available. They take a long time to get on right especially over pants which I usually wear when I snow blow my long driveway in northern New York ( a little bulky to wear inside long pants which I usually wear in the winter up here). I'll have to get help to deal with this Japanese design fetish. Otherwise they are executed beautifully so the 2 stars are really about me.

Boots were as advertised but the sizing was waaayyy off. I now have a pair of boots I can't wear and don't know anyone with such small feet. Disappointing.

BMan64I had the same issue I'm a 9.5/10 or 43.5 EUR and ordered the L. At first they were unusable I felt circulation to my feet constrained... but after 4 weeks of use they now feel snug and amazing. Guess the material stretched a bit and my fee also got accustomed. The caveat may be that even if I have a slightly big feet they are thin as are also my ankles and calves people with massive feet even if still 9.5 or cankles will have a rough time with these.

A little tricky to get on the first time, but appears solidly made and ready for cooler weather. Love Vibram soles!

These are slippers with tread. I don't recommend getting the tall ones, as they don't have enough body to them to stay out of the way while you're getting them on and it turns into a chore.
I have exceptionally large feet (12.5 EEEE/H/double-wide) and they were snug enough that I had to wear them only a couple hours a day while sitting around before they stretched out but they did stretch eventually and stayed stretched.
It also lost a full star for not bothering to mention that the inside of the leather ones is fuzzy.

SchuylerI don't know when you bought yours, but mine did say the inside is shearling. I have the brown leather ones. I love them, and was also concerned they would be too snug, but you are right, they did stretch out after a day of wearing, and are quite comfortable! Thanks for mentioning the chore of putting on the tall, I was gonna get another pair of the tall in neoprene for snowshoeing, but will think about it another minute. :D

My review is for the Shipibo – M. I've used other vibram products to great success but the fit on these are pretty abysmal. Maybe they are great for certain foot shapes but certainly not mine. If the Velcro areas were larger for more adjustability they could work decently but as is I might have to go the ebay route.
