UPDATE 11-04-2019: Well, it’s been an exciting first season at raising bees. A day of learning every day!! While the main goal was to raise a healthy and abundant brood of bees, intention was not to prioritize honey production. Ended up with a very nice supply of honey, and four hives full of bees and a supply of food for them for the winter. We need all we con do to make it through winters in northeast (Door County) Wisconsin. We are now planning for at least 2 additional hives. I was stung only twice, with surprisingly only a mild reaction :)

Robine56Do you mean a wax foundation on the frames or full comb? It is just empty frames (and no one provides full comb).

When I received my 3 hives, I was disappointed to find that the foundations did not come pre-waxed. I therefore waxed all 90 frames (both sides) before introducing bees to the hives... a task I did not count on having to do.

zensamuelYou need a pollen trap to collect the pollen. But you need a hive first :)

This is an awesome drop! This is what MD is/should be about: rare items at great prices. Sure. A hive is not for everyone, but for those interested is a pretty good option. My neighbours would kill me if I got one, of course! But that is besides the point...
