Am I nuts? I purchased 3 of these! based on feedback and YouTube reviews. One for my my desktop, one for my college age kid who's never had a stereo, and one for my TV/Playstation 4 (kid's playstation 4). Matte White, Matte Grey, Matte Black.
I really like the remote and the subwoofer option if I feel I need it -- probably for the TV setup. Any recommendations on a sub? What should I look at. Do the speakers get better sonically (clearer and louder) when pared with a sub since they don't have to reproduce the low end?

PathworksI actually bought Kanto's Sub 8 and being that it's a sealed-sub it offers excellent tight based that's pretty short and punchy. There are some other competitors that I can't think of off the top of my head, but it's a good sub. There are some other audio experts lurking that can offer you some more wisdom in terms of frequency response and other technical aspects.
Also, I'm not sure if pairing a sub with speakers necessarily "takes away" the job or eases the "burden" of the speakers from reproducing the low-end, but rather it should supplement and complement what the speakers are not able to reproduce. Granted the YUMI's if you crank up the bass setting a bit, they offer decent low-end reproduction (depending on what music you listen to). I turn mine up I believe 2-3 clicks, treble 3-4 clicks.

PathworksYou might be nuts but maybe in a good way like Crispin Glover or Nicolas Cage? Using a subwoofer will not prevent our speakers from reproducing bass, unless you are using an external crossover with a high pass filter then our speakers will play full range. KantoLivingThanks for letting me know that, I was kinda hoping it would sense the sub being attached and adjust itself to better reproduce the mids and highs.
The frequency goes down to 60 Hz so I have 2 questions. What frequency is sent to the sub out, and is there a recommendation for where to set the frequency range for best music reproduction (jazz) -- 60 and below or should it be set higher than 60 Hz? You might think this funny but I have a pair of AR90s (Circa 1979), and each speaker has 2 x10" Woofers... so I like full range.

PathworksHold onto those AR90's, barely anyone makes speakers like that anymore! I find that a crossover point of 60Hz is a bit low but can work if the YUMI's are positioned well in the room. If they YUMI's are not positioned well I find you lose some bass response and a 70Hz crossover point sounds better. It'll be up to you to figure out what sounds best.
