what is better these or the Sennheiser HD 598 closed back headphones?
(I already decided on a dac plus amp)

Tomli123I own the 598 and akg 550s which are similar to the 553s. now these are technically incomparable due to the fact that 598s are open back and 550s are closed. BUT in terms of sound quality, both are great, if you are looking for more clarity/instrumental/classical = 598s, if you are looking for more bass while sacrificing a little bit of the rest = 550s. Disclaimer: This is coming from my personal experience, I am no means a professional in determining these stuff

SOULSIKi meant the Sennheiser HD 598 cs closed back edition of the headphones. they don't have an open back.

Tomli123oh then it makes it simple. i have both 550 and 598 closed.also tried the 553 recently and i can telll you the 553 is better than 598 closed
