Selling for $190.00 plus elsewhere.... You can even flip this and make a profit. I am in.
Hi, is the pivot still "free spinning"?
Also, can we have some back up on Bestech's S35VN heat treatment?
First thing I though when I saw this was the Toyota Tercel

Nope, it's a stupid name for a fantastic knife xD

tercel [tur-suh l] the male of a hawk, especially of a gyrfalcon or peregrine.
Not too stupid if you can get away from the Toyota link lol
Wow, great price! I didn't know this was going to be offered, I would of waited. Great quality, great action, great grip. I love mine, you can't go wrong with this.
@kavik Do you own the Bestech 1708 Tercel ?

I've heard good things about them, but haven't really looked into them yet. Maybe some day
Yeah it does 😁
I fell in love my my GM2 immediately. Great usable knife. The ergos are absolutely phenomenal.
I got mine 4 days ago and aside from some nit-picky little design issues, it's a fantastic knife.
The Blade Centering is spot on. After I cleaned out whatever heavier oil they were using, the action is amazing. The blade grind is impeccable. It was exceedingly sharp out of the box. It had a bit of lock-stick but after using it for a bit it's now worn in and not an issue. The detent is well dialed in, firm but not overly so and no blade movement when closed. No vertical or horizontal blade play.
My little issues: The pivot is a pain since it's fitted for a coin or the like, It begs for a detent ramp, and there are some hotspots that could use some chamfering.
Overall I'm extremely impressed with the fit and finish of that particular Bestech and I'm probably going to pick up more from them.
Bonus: Since I got it in gray (1708B) I ended up getting one of the first production ones (027/100).
I paid $160 for mine last time and felt that was fair. Maybe I'll pick up a gold one to go with it.

Mine (all gray model) says "1st Prod. 035/100" on the spine.

This must be the first production run if the 1708B. Kinda cool and unexpected.
Got mine today, pretty much flawless. I'd say it's worth over $150 but not quite $200 (the price they are aiming for outside of Massdrop). At that level you are getting into We Knife territory.
Wait for the D2 G-10 budget models, you get way more value for the price, and the designs are slam dunk(Google Bestech Scimitar, Kendo or Lion). Unfortunately Bestech's titanium models are just a bit too funky for my taste..
Looks great, I'm on the fence. I'm confident its a great knife, just not wowed by it, and would prefer a different blade shape. Its in between a hard use EDC, and something collectable.
I see it for $192 at BladeHQ, I'd rather buy it from Massdrop all things being equal. I think this is a great value, I just don't need another 'on-par' EDC.
Interestingly, I found no video of this knife, and very little discussion. I think this is one of those Chinese companies that are using their learned know-how and materials from American and other designers to do their own thing, but cheaper.
feel like these are quality knives, but the company just hasn't got enough street cred so it's hard to gauge whether it's worth risking $150 here..
I have ordered a few knives from this brand and always feel disappointed that the Blades feel cheap. Is it just a different feel and look to them and the quality is there or are they flimsy to other people well. Thanks for any feedback back.
