Same compliments to every Bestech knife I own except for one thing, the blade steel. Would have preferred if it was the usual D2 steel as opposed to the 12C27. Still a great knife nonetheless
One thing I don’t like is it’s pretty hard to use my sharpening stones on. The top of the knife barely has and flat surface to purchase on to use the my lansky knife sharpener. Besides that it opens nicely , nice gimping and good attention to detail in its construction
I really do like his knife but I wish it came in g10 with a slight contour. The action is great and the steel performs pretty good for what it is watch out for loctite if you go to disassemble.
It has a nice flip, it has Sandvik, it locks up and there’s no play. That makes it good at this price, but not great: all these features can be had for two thirds the price nowadays. This knife, a value Bestech, comes across like kind of a Sandvik Ganzo or Byrd. Nothing wrong with either proposition but it’s a better value at $25 than at $39 and it unfortunately costs the latter.
6/10 better than average
I like this knife. I really do, but I don't love it. The build quality is good, deployment is nice and smooth, and the blade shape is quite nice. I also quite like the stonewash and the liner lock is among the most comfortable I have encountered.
But there are two issues that stop me from loving it.
1. It is too thick. There is no reason for it to be as thick as it is. It feels bulky, and as a result I don't ever carry it. The Kizer Vanguard is an excellent example of a bigish knife that doesn't feel massive in the pocket, and if this had a similar width I would like it a lot more.
2. The scales kind of suck. Delica plastic feels utilitarian, this plastic just feels....not cheap necessarily, but unsatisfying.
If only this knife had thinner scales, and in a different material I could wholeheartedly recommend it, but as it stands, it could use improvement.
