I got the L/XL and have about a 36/38 waist, they fit pretty well. I use them for camp shorts, and I also used them for swimming in a creek next to our campsite. They air dry ridiculously fast and weigh next to nothing. I'm hoping they go on sale again so I can grab another pair. As far as care goes, I just hand wash them in the sink and hang them up to air dry. They have accidentally been thrown into a washing machine load before (and a dryer) and were fine, though I'm careful to make sure that doesn't happen again.
I got mine in L/XL just in time for my last trip and ordered the green pair. The material is a little thin, which I knew, but it does make a great camp or hiking short to air out after a long day on the trail. Didn't get a chance to try them for swimming, since daytime temps were in the mid 40's, but I'd be game to use them as a bathing suit or a sleeping short.
I received my orange Dutchware shorts in a plastic bag labeled in magic marker S/M. I have a 34 inch waist. When I tried the shorts on they look ridiculously large. In addition, they are fairly translucent so one would have to wear something underneath. The shorts do not have a size marked on them, so it is possible that I received the larger size in the wrong bag. Massdrop has not been helpful at sorting through this problem. I guess I am stuck with some mighty big see through shorts.
