Good eve everyone, how would these compare to headphones like Philips SHP-9500, or AKG K7XX? I have not experienced any others currently suggested, also just purchased fostex Mark 3 to mod

GWGL75I have not heard the AKG K7XX but from what I read it's very neutral headphone. So in comparison Taek / Fostex / Denon will sound more colored.
I own and SHP-9500 and I'll have to say they're different level of headphones. SHP-9500 doesn't sound as detailed / refined though it also cost way less. Sound signature wise SHP-9500 has more emphasis on treble > bass > mid. Taek / Fostex / Denon will sound more like bass > treble > mid (except TH-X00).
I read Fostex T50RP MKIII is VERY good stock, you should listen to it first before you mod it. It's just insanely hard to drive it properly so hopefully your amp can pull it off.
