Sleek and Functional

I loved it right out of the package. The bright colour, solid build, and how the firestarter just blends in with my EDC of a torch, knife and multi-tool. It works perfectly and with 1 strike, sufficient hear to start kindling and a good fire. As it is my emergency firestarter, it is very unlikely that a replacement flint would ever be needed.

I find that other ferro rods produce sparks much easier. I think maybe there is too much magnesium in this rod. The striker is very sharp and scrapes material off but not so good for striking for sparks. Or maybe the rod I got is defective. I just tried striking it with a piece of hacksaw blade and was able to get much better striking. I'm going say don't bother with this and get a mora knife fire kit. Better value and more uses.
