evanlaYes, because "Nominal impedance: 35 ohms" should be fine with any mass produced portable consumer device. Android, iPhone, etc. start to be under-powered for phones with impedance of about 64 ohms or more,
OstewartYes, and my experience is admittedly limited, but for impedance as low as 35 ohms I think any sensitivity that actual headphones might have will be within a range that's OK for pretty much any cell phone. True? Thanks.
Dr_Rodney_McKayNot quite true.
Not 35 Ohms, but 50 Ohms you have the Fostex T50rp, and the Hifiman HE-500 / HE-6, both of which will not work well out of a phone.
Also there were some limited edition Kinera Earbuds which I have, that are around 32 Ohms, but require quite a bit of power.
General rule of thumb is below 100 Ohms, and over 100dB @1mW you should be fine with a phone.
OstewartThanks, Oste and Dr R.
In your opinion, can you suggest a good setup for me? I listen mostly with my phone or computer. Can I use an amp/headphone combo with a phone or is that dumb? I can probably spend $400 or so on headphones and amp
thanks for your opinions :)
evanlaI'm not that clued up on portable amps at the moment, but the Oppo HA-2SE is great.
If your phone supports USB OTG, then the iFi Audio Nano iDSD is a killer unit, but it only supports USB input.
