Comparing to my combat 6 classic, the combat 7 vintage looks very similar yet so distinct. The combat 6 has a darker dial, dome sapphire, polished body. The combat 7 has a greyish black dial, raise hesalite crystal, brushed body. The overall look of the combat 6 is more refined while the combat 7 really feels like a tool watch like what it designed for, combat. I love them both and I worn them regularly, giving them the same love and treatment.

Could someone please confirm if the lug width is 20 or 22 mm? I have read both sizes in several sites.
jalper000
it's 20mm from what I've read.

Thank you!
This is a nice watch for this price; however, for slightly more you can get a much higher quality and better finished Hamilton. The finish looks decent, except between the lugs which they didn’t bother with—unfortunately this is exposed. I question if it’s worth $279 (I paid $30 more on Jomashop). You will not get $1000 discounted watch, you will get a watch you question if it was worth the $279....but probably not to the point you return it.

Really? How does owning a watch have anything to do with knowing Glycine's history as a military and flight watch? And the point isn't that this a a bad watch, just that the attention to detail isn't the same as you would find on a $350 Hamilton. Or, if Swiss Made isn't important or role as a military watch, a $200 Seiko.
I have had selective luck with a few watches under $600. I hoped this would fall into that category. But yes, generally $1000 is the entry level for a mid-range automatic.
Nice! Just snagged the one with the olive nato.
If you want to wear it as your everyday/field watch, I recommend you wait for the combat 6 vintage, it have sapphire crystal top and a day window which makes it a better day to day companion

Thanks to all for the discussion re: Combat 6 vs. Combat7. Thought I wanted a 6 but now have lots to think about.
When on the wrist the look does not at all suggest 'small hands'
Just ordered one with the olive NATO strap. Would love to be able to purchase a black strap separately, as well.
This over a Hamilton KHAKI?

I kept my Glycine, but agree 100%, the Hamilton is a much better watch for slightly more.

It looks great on your wrist. If I had both, I'd have a green NATO on one, and a black NATO on the other. That way I'd be prepared to match anything I was wearing. You simply can never have too many watches!
I could not see this watch on the official Glycine site. Is this a superseded model?
phoebe62
This watch was previously discontinued. It has not been on the Glycine website for sometime.
Does invicta own massdrop ?
Watchfan73
LOL, nice joke xD
Invicta owns glycine now....
john-florio
But this is an old logo pre-invicta model,

Swatch owns Omega. We can ALL play this game!

Fiat owns Ferrari. What's the problem?
I got this watch in a drop a year ago. The dial looks great but the crystal has cracked twice just in everyday use. Glycine wouldn’t cover under warranty; $150 to replace. I’d hold out for a sapphire Combat if you like it. (This particular watch cannot take a sapphire crystal due to the bezel design.)
ggrossman
thank you, was doing research on whether the crystal can be upgraded and this is the deal breaker. Will wait for these to drop to $200 lol
ggrossman
Nice looking watch, a shame that the crystal can't be upgraded to sapphire. As teioh3 noted, a deal-breaker. Thanks for the info.
Massdrop....another glycine ???
Watchfan73
Well, this one is the one to have, really versatile, the only 2 things i would improve is the strap stitching and a sapphire glass, everything else is amazing
Nextgengentry
You can wait for the Combat 6 Vintage to get the sapphire glass and a better strap :)
Can anyone tell me if this has a screw down crown?
Melliferous
It doesn't have screw down crown
Melliferous
No it doesn't, but it still has 100m wr
Beautuful watch, classic timeless design (imo). And it has both 1-12 & 13-24 denotations😃, BUT the dial is only 41mm and it has that shitty vintage Hesalite😩

Not irrelevant, because the name of the watch is combat 7 vintage, and vintage usually is under 42, I just pointed the fact, that if u want something bigger don't look for it in a watch with vintage in it's name
Nextgengentry
Ok daddy😩
Hand winding capable??
wonbul
yes
No sapphire? How much does it cost to put it after?
JorgeNegro
I have this watch. It is not possible to change to a sapphire or mineral glass crystal due to the bezel design.
Worst type of crystal ever.......
The watch is awesome, but too easy to scratch

Some polywatch might help.
Received mine today on the UK. Very happy with the watch from an initial assessment
Who is packing these? Watch upside down/loose in the box and protective film dislodged from watch face. Hoping there is no damage.

I'm assuming it's the procedure when they're shipped by mail
It's been 8 days since the last update from package traking, destination Barcelona. Is this the usual international shipping time or something went wrong? Should i contact massdrop help centre?
Nextgengentry
Maybe it's stuck in customs
CBeeZ
Shit, i hope it's not 😂 i updated traking and it's already on my country, hope everithing is fine
Got mine today. Looks sharp, very glad the strap fit my wrist. Normally on the last hole, but I have two extra which is nice for a change.

Awesome. Cheers mate
Anyone knows which reference belongs to each one? I'm worried off buying the wrong one! (Help please Massdrop staff!!)
Nextgengentry
B2 is green nylon B9 is black nylon is this what your asking?
StainlessOnly
Yes!! Thank you! Usually when there's a couple references they attach the reff to each pic
What kind of shipping does massdrop use for shipping to australia? And is there any insurance option for shipping?
What exactly is the difference between the two models (3943.19AT.TB2 vs 3943.19AT.TB9)? Is it just the strap color?

The lume looks really different to me :S
Nextgengentry
Maybe green strap was out of the box prior to the photo shoot vs the black kept in the box? My only guess. But you're not alone in seeing a difference, I see it too.
looked like a timex weekender from thumbnail
Any idea how long shipping will take to Montreal? Will be leaving for overseas on the 30th of April and want to take this with me on my travels.
Although I can understand the concern of Invicta influence over Glycine, all indicators would point to Invicta being more interested in growing the brand instead of changing it. Glycine had a big problem with market penetration in its past, especially with regard to the Americas. With Invicta involved, it has a larger ability to project presence, and grow market share.
Additionally, it is most likely that IF Invicta plans any big changes, they will save it for Basel World next month, as to make a big splash.

Sad news for those of us that have normal size wrists and dont want to look like a rapper.
Omegaman68
Invicta have never been my wheel house, but they have made a name and image for themselves that's for sure (sometimes not for the better). I hope they don't mess up Glycine
Is the strap the only difference between the two models?

I think the lume is a different color?
Samhagen
I agree that in some of the pics it looks different which is why I asked. Can a massdrop rep comment?
