As promised I have purchased a remote controller because we got lowest price. Direct sales are $125 in grace design, Massdrop is also $30 cheaper.

Jas260In the remote controller can operate the following things directly.
1. MUTE / EX Output: Mute toggle (long press will toggle the exclusive output) 2. X-FEED: cross-feed on / off toggle ((long press will exit SetupMenu) 3. OUTPUT / Setup: toggles between outputs (long press will in SetupMenu) 4. BALANCE / Mono:. Enter balance mode option (long press in normal operation will toggle sound momoral) 5. VOLUME / Menu Navi: volume up or down buttons will change the selected m920 output level (navigate through the available setup menu items in SetupMenu.)
In particular, I think to be switched to mute and cross-feed directry is that it is very convenient.

Jas260Unfortunately m920 has a balanced output, but it is for the power amplifier and powered speakers, not designed for headphone.

Jas260Those functions are usually operated by the rotation and push knob , remote controller have them short-cut. For all features are described in the operation manual. look at there. (PDF) ( My English is not good, it can not be well explained)

Jas260I never heard lynx hilo too.
I think lynx hilo is professional equipment, high performance, to have a many I\O, and about $ 2000 price products . I think that's a very similar positon products to grace design m920.
lynx hilo use DAC is Cirruslogic CS4398 (24bit / 192khz / 120db), on the other hand m920 is ESS ES9018-2M (32bit / 384kHz / 127db). Amplifier sound of not determined only DAC, but will be in the reference.
IMHO: I think it's more audiophiles for better of m920. because do not have a large LCD screen.

Jas260I can not affirm the Which is better.
Audio products is their pro-use, consumer, preferences, hobbies, there is a lot of elements. I can not be easily compared that product of the same price range .
Also grace design m920 is a great enthisiast product for audiophile, but it is nonsense to comparison with other products.
