I love my pen. I purchased the midsize that uses the Schmidt P8126 refills. It's got a nice, simple design and the bolt is really neat. It feels really good in the hand, and has tremendous heft given it's solid metal construction. This pen feels indestructible. I use it for my EDC now since fountain pens don't hold up as well to my Alaskan lifestyle. It has scratches. To me this isn't a problem, I think the scratches give it character, but fellow pen purchasers should be aware that the coating will scratch. Something else to note is that the pen disassembles completely and the pocket clip can be trivially removed if you don't like it. I have no regrets buying this pen and I would recommend it to anyone else. If this drop opens in the future again, I might buy another for the G2 refills (the big one). I would certainly buy this for others as a gift, and I would be thrilled to get this as a gift. It's a very unique pen, given the bolt action, and has a great, simple, clean look. If you're on the fence, buy it. You won't regret it.
One important note for the pictures: my hands are on the larger side. I'm a 6'1" guy and I wear large or extra large gloves.

This is by a pretty wide margin the best pen I've ever owned. I hate cap pens, and full size pens are way too big to keep in my pocket every day. The bolt action doesn't open in my pocket like some click pens commonly do, and the brass has a good weight to it. My only complaints are it can be very slick in the hand, and the rear cap loosens regularly. If they were going to consider any upgrades, I'd suggest a fluted body, or knurling the front cap of the pen to add a little grip, and the back cap comes undone pretty regularly, as well as adding a phillips or flat screw slot to the endcap so it can be tightened down enough to stay put. These two complaints still don't offset that this pen is perfect for me otherwise.

cschultzy56Thank you for your kind words, I'm happy to hear that you like the pen. For the cap, you can consider temporarily wrapping it with a rubber band or electrical tape for a little friction and grip while twisting the cap on -- much more effective than twisting it on with your bare fingers to tighten it, a little extra force will help with the loosening.

JCHENGA dab of Blue Loctite or blue Permatex threadlocker will solve 99% of loose thread issues. These also work great on keeping loose pins in watch bands. Use BLUE only -- it is medium strength and stays pretty soft. The red versions are permanent and require high heat to remove.

The screw that is the actual bolt of the pen fell out. Now it's useless. I have contacted the company and they said the'd send one out to me. Make sure you loctite the bolt or it will likely come loose, or fall out like mine. This pen also has some pretty dangerously sharp edges. I had to hit some areas with sand paper to soften some edges.

As someone that spends his entirety of the week typing on keyboards, I can go days without physically using a pen or pencil. I relish any opportunity I can borrow my wife's Christmas gift so I can play with this brass beauty. Grocery shopping pre-bolt-action-pen = Hell NO! Shopping after... = HECK YISS! This has such a delightful weight and the action is just so satisfying. I wasn't a pen nerd before but I enjoy adding items that I can own forever and pass to my son. This product gets an A+ for enjoyment from me on build quality and functionality and emotional engagement. Update: to add my thoughts on the "sharpness" of the edges. I can see what folks are saying but I don't think there is a real risk of cutting myself. The edge is definitely pronounced but I don't think there is any personal danger. However, it would improve the tactile sensation if it was toned down a tiny bit. Update 2: I ended up buying one for myself in this latest drop along with 4 others for gifts for some dear friends that would appreciate a lifelong pen.

The edges around the bolt action mechanism (as echoed a few times) could definitely not be as sharp. This will literally be a pain to use should you have dried/chapped fingers during the winter especially coupled with the strong spring. (By itself, I wouldn't mind the strong spring, but I do when paired with the sharp edges.)

I purchased the medium size pen and it was heavier than I expected. Nonetheless, I love it, I bring it out for parties when we play games that require writing.

Love the size and weight. The case does tend to unwind a bit though. Real issue I had was the ink cartridge leaked all over and ruined a shirt.

Delightfully weighty, and quite nice to write with. I got a medium in brass, slightly disappointed that large was sold out, but after using it for a few months it's really the perfect size, in my opinion. The only real nit that I've found is that the base with the clip can sometimes come slightly undone, letting the clip spin a bit, but a firm tightening will keep things solid. Overall: great writing feel, and it does draw the occasional comment, especially when someone borrows it.

Great heft, and no captain/nurse on scene is going to forget that they asked to use my pen. Only recommendation would be that the edges of the bolt be smoothed/rounded.

Great build quality! I already had a lot of solid brass pens, so I bought the stainless steel version of this pen. Good weight and balance in the hand. Smooth bolt action to extend and retract the tip. My only suggestion for improvement (and it's a small one) would be to smooth the edges of the bolt guide. I haven't cut my thumb when using the pen, but I could see that happening if I got in a hurry and pressed harder than normal.
