Finding a good pair of earphones is near impossible at this price. I own very expensive sets of in ear monitors, and these pair of 40 buck earbuds give them a run for their money. Of course they don't have the unbiased sound of a true pair of In ear Monitors, but they reproduce digital content superbly.
The idea of the inserts to accentuate certain levels depending to your taste is like something I've never seen before and I have been involved in pro audio for most of my life.
I am using them with the base accent inserts and let me tell you, you have never heard bass this rich on such a small package. They are very comfortable too. Amplification is sufficient with the integrated amp of your favorite smart phone, but a line amplifier is always welcome and makes this pair really shine.
For casual listening while working, or for working out while at the gym or doing house chores, you cant go wrong with this.
Premium product, premium quality components at an unreal price.
Honestly very impressed with these, and at 40 dollars, what the hell?? These compete admirably with my dunu dn 2002's, a 450 something dollar Iem! The dunu has to take the cake for the sparkle in the highs and the sub bass extension, but the gt 600s is more open and definitely has more soundstage and it is accurate too! Really impressed with sound. The ugly: the filters don't have a proper gasket race so the gaskets are suceptable to coming out. Also one of the mmxc connectors in the iem's is tight as hell (good) and another is pretty loose. This causes the loose one to roatate and it will wear out sooner. As a footnote I was not impressed with these out of the box, the mid-range was noticably "blurry", but they seemed to break in over the week I have had them before doing this review because that issue is now 100% gone. Overall I recommend this to anyone if you want good sound at a reasonable price.
Just copped these a couple months ago. Sure there are better IEMs but to be honest, these made me an audiophile and made me want to get more audio gear! The build quality and unboxing are really amazing for the price. Bass is a bit low for my taste, and the bass tuning nozzles only really give you more of that boxy mid bass instead of that deep sub. Awesome for beginners or if you just want a cheap pair of indestructible knockaround IEMs.
First impressions, I'm not a fan. The build is solid, over ear wire doesn't bother me. What gets me is the sound. It's so flat and hollow sounding. Switching out the filters and playing around with different songs across many artists/styles , these just leave me feeling unimpressed. I don't know where a few people get the "thumpy" or "boosted" bass from. I can tell it's a bass guitar through it's clarity (and they are clear, and I play bass btw) but it's lacking any drive, like the guitar isn't plugged in. It all just sounds flat, cold and dead. These where run through a combo of amps/dacs with similar results. They did not pick up anything even on a tube amp. Topping NX4, Schiit stack 3, Fio EO6 because I still have one, 50w tube amp direct plug for source and BT and these still failed to do anything great. Been using a pair of Tin Audio T2's and those just WALK all over these. For a few bucks more, get the T2s and not have to deal with filters and gimmicks for a lackluster performance. T2 Pros if you like a touch more treble. Unless you get a stellar deal on these (like 20 bucks) just stay away.
DragonHawk13Of course the opinion of each of us is subjective, I definitely prefer the GT600S, T2 are hammering the head on factory-made foams, fortunately it was possible to eliminate by receiving the appropriate silicones
It is a great headphone with no so good build quality
Pros: 3 Tuning tune for 3 types of output, good for all situation; Easy to drive, A20 and Sony PHA-2A works well (Try with 4.4mm BA, you would find a new world). Both low and high range sound pretty good. However mid range is sort of a disaster.
Cons: Bad Quality control, the case does not looks appealing; Glass is easy to break, I broke my own by leaving it with my keys in my pocket; Heavy.
Honestly I'd give these a 3.5 out of 5 but the price bumped them up to a 4. For $40 these are just fine. If these are your first IEM's, you will love em. If not, these are a great backup.
Pros: Nice packaging, and lots of different ways to set these up. Sound is good. Good build quality. They look cool.
Cons: This is subjective but, uncomfortable (for me) for only about 30 mins to an hour at a time. At first I thought I'd really like the fact that these were heavy and made of metal, but eventually they started to hurt my outer ear if I had em on for too long. Cable is fragile. I have gone through many a mmcx cable and these are some of the cheaper ones I've used. The largest ear pieces were still too small for me.
I'll get right to the problems. These earbuds are made of steel with a pretty boxy shape, so they can be uncomfortable pressed against parts of the ear. The real problem is the filters get clogged up with sweat/wax and the sound just totally dies. I find myself cleaning the filters CONSTANTLY. They are entirely unsuitable for any activity, including walking around the city. At this point, I only use them sitting at my desk at work.
They sound very decent clear but not shrill treble and a warm bass. Excellent isolation with the foam tips.
My right earpiece broke after two month of regular but normal use (not even sports) there's no refund or anything.
So... sound & isolation is very decent while quality assurance seems to be not existent just like their return policy. Be aware you might buy these headphones for the garbage bin.
