Cokemanthanks! HD600 is 290 EUR in my country. So I think this is better value.. what are the aspects that you rate HD600 higher for mixing / mastering?
SnakePlisskenThat’s why they are good. You don’t want a wide soundstage for mastering, you loose detail that way. That’s why pretty much all monitoring and mastering headphones are narrow and very neutral, which is exactly what the 600s are. 770s are terrible mastering headphone, way too V shaped.
CokemanSo you think somehow a non existent soundstage makes for good mastering?
I'd hate to hear your mixes
Edit I will add the fact you think the 770s are v shaped shows you are clueless abt headphones
The 770s are possibly the most neutral headphone I have used, given I own around 10 headphones I know what is V shaped and what is not, the DT770s are NOT V shaped
SnakePlisskenMaybe you should know what you are talking about before you make yourself look like an idiot. Look at the frequency graph. Extremely V shaped.
Sure buddy, I bet you come straight from HeadFi too? you want to drop the insults because the only one coming off as an idiot would be you
I have both the HD600 and the DT770 80 Ohm, given I am doing a degree in Audio engineering, and have been schooling for the last 2 years, you think I am going to believe someone who posts a graph? show me how it is V shaped, oh wait cause you said it is? LOL
Thanks for your efforts though, shows how little you actually know :/
The link shows what "V" shaped looks like
Yes they are. Almost all of Beyers’ cans are until you get into the high end stuff like the 1990s. They have elevated bass and highs. The 770s, 880s, and 990s all have close to the same general sound signature.
SnakePlisskenAnd that’s actually a good thing. Most people don’t like neutral headphones because their boring. That’s why the 650s are more popular than the 600, they are less neutral and more fun.
CokemanOh please, once again the 880s differ from the 990s as do the 770s, you're full of it
Funnily enough I have the 990s too and they lack bass so how do they sound the same as 880 and 770?
You are clueless
CokemanWho said they were neutral cans? the HD 600 aren't neutral either, but you're coming of as some can expert because of a graph and "V" shaped buzz word. I use cans to master, track, erm guess what, the HD600s are the least revealing when it comes to an overall balance, why is that?
Oh cause V shape buzz word blah blah...
Let me guess you master with your Beats too?
SnakePlisskenYes they differ, I said that. They are generally similar. The 990s have more treble and less low end than the 880s and 770s. I’ll give you that. The 880s and 770s are closer to each other than the 990s. But the 770s are still V shaped. You can’t deny that.
SnakePlisskenThe HD600s are very nuetral. They aren’t 100%, but close. Mastering headphones you want to be neutral with as much det as possible to not modify the sound from the original source. Why can’t you just admit you are wrong instead of making up senseless insults?
CokemanYeah buddy, keep trolling, this is what you posted " The 770s, 880s, and 990s all have close to the same general sound signature. "
Which is incorrect, and BEATS are V shaped, 770s are not, if this was the case, by your own admission the 880 and 990 would be V shaped too, because they wait for it, all " all have close to the same general sound signature. "
You;'re a liar, there are 3 versions of the 770, which are closed, the 880 are semi opened and 990 are open
You just posted how they're all sharing the same sound signature which would all make them "V" shaped
You are truly just a bad troll, clueless too
CokemanMaking up senseless insults? you're the one insulting, you are once again clueless, you don't even begin to know what "V" shaped means, I get you parrot what HeadFi posts but understand how the Fletcher Munson curve works
SnakePlisskenI love when people are wrong and then they accuse someone else of trolling. I’m not even going to waste my time with you. You are the only person in the world who would say the 770s aren’t V shaped.
So you can't even address your blanket statement of the 880 and 990 being "V" shaped too?
I figured you couldn't that's why you've been side stepping all along, keep saying "V" shaped, it's the only technical term you know
